What I am saying is that the conservative concept of choice is a fantasy which serves simply to rationalize a system which narrowly favors elites and business. Its like calling a choice between eating and health care a choice or saying workers can chose to go to high paying jobs that don't exist. The fact remains that the only downside to the public option is that it's just too awesome. We don't deserve anything that good. Simply put: it's Medicare, but for anyone who wants it. And this is somehow a nightmare scenario -- one that we must never be allowed to experience even though it would cost much less than our current system, it would cover everyone who wants it, and it would be ...

There are reports of shootings, beatings, and arrests as thousands commemorate the brutal crackdown of the 1999 demonstrations. The Republicans have been giving democrats plenty of material to play the race card in coming elections, and I don't believe we are utilizing the goldmine this is. In the 2006 TX gubernatorial election, black voter turnout was 37%, while white voter turnout was 49%, and hispanic voter turnout was in the middle. Texas did not maximize its black vote in 2008 either, and it isn't the ...
