I think reading's something we usually don't set a discipline to, and just do spontaneously. At the moment I'm reading Steve Pavlina's book, and Nietzsche's book "why I am so wise" on the side..

The best technique is visualization, hands-down.
If you're going to memorize walls of pointless conceptual information (i.e. college), visualize the location of the information on the page. This is because the spatial relationships between concepts give you important information regarding the intellectual scaffolding that holds them together. It is this scaffolding that most questions ...

Read Steve's last post and video, regarding visualization.... he mentions that if you practice this type of visualization in the evening, you can find yourself waking up in the same state.
This may not work right off the bat; just turn immediately to visualization practice when you realize, "Hey, I'm awake!" Or, "Uh oh - I'm awake." Whatever.
(This is also good practice for anyone who ...

how are you defining progress? progress can be taking a single step toward meeting a goal. it doesn't have to be that it only counts as progress when you reach the end zone of fulfilling the goal.
are your goals realistic? are they things you feel you can achieve in the time frame, do you have a time frame in mind? could you split them up into smaller pieces and have mini goals so you feel ...

Depends on the book.
For fictional books, I'm a linear reader. I pick a book and read it until it's done, then start on another. I don't read many fictional books so I never have the feeling of wanting to read five at once.
For technical books and other things like that, I use them more as a reference, so I'm in and out.
It doesn't bother me.

Ooh yeah, don't do that. Don't become addicted to someone else's wisdom.
When you read advice from anyone, I'd suggest you think about it and how it applies to your own life, your own understanding, things you've found for yourself to be true. Then try out any new ideas and if they work for you, continue using them. What works for others may work horribly for you. I've read some time ...

I think you likely be leaving earth, going astral.. or getting some kind of lesson.. cause that's a interesting problem where you let time slide by
I think you should research meditation, astral projection or a 101 methods and process's even a psychologist if you wish.. and either remove it.. or find out where you go (your choice)

Day 1 - Finished all three. Waking up at 6:00am was NOT easy and I really wanted to go back to sleep even after I had been awake for 20 minutes. BUT I gotta say it really felt good waking up that early.
Writing for 2 hours was brutal. There were lots of distractions, people interrupting and I kept feeling like stopping, so I had to break it up in pieces. I wrote in the morning for 45min, ...

thc addiction/excessive use is *psychological*, not really chemical. the brain doesn't NEED to get high, but you are probably telling yourself that.
i was able to just stop toking one day. i decided that was what i wanted and i had no withdrawal or urge to get a fix because i knew those things are all in the head. and because i just no longer wanted to smoke pot. if you still want to, it will...

1. What is the best way of digging into a problem that you have been reluctant to deal with? (i.e. mediataion, pros and cons lists, journaling and so on)
The best way.. is to not bother to find problems.. the best way is to flush yourself with a "quick-fix" that's my honest opinion.. why bother when you can flush out all the 'dirty' bath water, permanently and you don't even have to ...

First, your whole life is NOT screwed up. You have good friends, a partner, good credentials - you are doing better than most people. So you have a little cash flow problem. That isn't going to ruin your life.
I think the best thing to do, if you are willing to finish your degree, is just go talk to them. Tell them you have been chronically ill and you have trouble keeping up with the work ......
