Blogger seems like the better, easier option for someone who wants to start up on blogger and add adsense to their blog. I can't remember being able to do that with wordpress on a free site.

When I talk to my family next I'll see if my dad - who owns one but not in the US - can give some tips. I know an ex Disney animator who he knew & he got talking & they decided to set up a studio & eventually a school in animation.

There's a lot to be said for a low-status job. When I was about 23 I quit teaching in a very bad economic environment and basically after many rejected job applications (being overqualified, people's negative feelings about teachers - I honestly had it said to me 'if you can't cope with 12 weeks holiday a year how will you cope with 4?' etc etc), I took a lowly job as a customer liaison clerk. Well this gave me my own...

Profit is the turnover - costs (computers, employees, electricity, internet etc). Turnover = service fee as you call it. How much money comes in. Since you have no control over other peoples costs, or cannot see how much they really make in profit, it is always better to agree on a percentage over turnover. you can also agree on a fixed price of course.

That 25% you mention is not a referral fee, but a percentage of a one year's salary of the placed candidate, paid by the employer who hired the headhunter. I agree with Ssandra that when for a...

I think you have too many products on offer in the one site, giving the user mixed messages.
It's seems that your drums offer is what you want to focus on most, as that is heriacherly first in the nav and intro text.
Personally I would focus on the intuitive area separately to the drums. So I would create a separate site for that.
This is what went on my mind, when I first visited your ...

Why would you want to? The corporate world would be hell to me, having to dress up everyday, acting like a drone, kissing the bosses ass for raises, stressed for deadlines, limited amounts of time off, having to ask permission for said time off, all this to work for a giant greedy corporation, no thanks. Granted not all companies are greedy, but from my experience the vast majority don't seem to ...

I think SBI comes with certain spoonfeeding and babysitting features that are attractive for beginners. Also Steve Pavlina uses SBI so his following is passionately biased to this I think
I use wordpress for all my sites - they rank sky high on Google and some of them are paying my bills well.

I LIKE the fact that Google hasn't sold out and stuffed their homepage with ads. That's part of the beauty of why Google is so frikin awesome because it loads quickly and is very basic. That's what made them successful in the first place, and I think they realize that.
Yahoo, on the other hand, is just bloated and sketchy.

My main advice at the moment, which is contrary to my normal philosophy is to get a job- any kind of job.
My aim is to help people escape the rat race but there has to be some reality mixed into all of this.
You are clearly with not a lot of money and not wanting to mooch off the state. You are correct that if you have no service or product to offer you can only trade your time. This ...

well IMHO it IS possible to get stunning bucks as an employee
but the thing is:
- however much you make, always be aware that the guy for whom you are sweating is squeezing many times more value out of you, for himself
- however much you make you won t be happy INASMUCH AS you don t do it FREELY but as a slave
cheers

It's the first time I hear this definition, but it makes a lot of sense to me and I like it very much. It's about adding value and creating synergy.

I have had similar thoughts, I must admit. It seems somehow skewed or unfair that some people have so much and some have so little, for example.
The last time I was thinking about this, I had been asked for bus fare by a Iraqi war vet who was just a few feet away from the box office of a theater where tickets were selling out for $100/seat. I was just passing through and had not five cents ...

I suggest selling most of your possessions. That's what I'm doing at the moment. It's a good way of making some money.
And take any job you can, including part time ones. I know you said you are having problems finding one. But are there really no jobs near you? If not try another city, or another country even.
