DB2 and Parameter Substitution...
Published (2009-12-17 05:56:00)
Hey again, I have a question regarding some odd behavior I can't seem to find on the forums. I'm using DB2 via a native JDBC connection and run a sql string like Code: select * from myTable where ${myParam} is not null or select * from myTable where myTable.myDateField > Date(${myParam}) Anyway, I can pretty easily get around the second one by just using java.sql.date parameters, but I'm trying to test for null params....

prpt-report by one page
Published (2009-12-21 07:10:00)
Good afternoon! Whether it is possible in PRD3.5 to create the prpt-report which was displayed in html not on many page? Reports in PRD3.0 (xaction-reports) were displayed in a bi-server entirely without page navigation. For example report XY-charting is displayed entirely, and the report button-multi-parameter is on many page. The prpt-report by one page is necessary to me. I am sorry for my English. I hope, the question is clear.

Unable to load the driver:...
Published (2009-12-16 17:11:00)
The solutions for me was to get the right "jar" in the right place. 1) Go to http://sourceforge.net/projects/jtds/ and download the latest Open source JDBC driver 2) Extract jtds-1.2.4.jar to ~\biserver-ce-3.5.0.stable\biserver-ce\tomcat\common\lib. Probably should do that for ~\biserver-ce-3.5.0.stable\administration-console\jdbc too. 3 Restart the BI Server (and PAC). Should work now. Thanks, David

parameter in output report?
Published (2009-12-21 10:49:00)
Eureka! The problem was with the type I assigned to the parameter. In the database is defined as a bigint and I previously set it to Number or Integer (the right choice is Long). Unfortunately when previewing inside Report Designer it worked right, and no message error was given when accessing from the user console. Regards, f.

Charts imported from 1.7 in 3.5
Published (2009-12-21 09:44:00)
Hi, I have a chart as a "legacy" chart, i guess because it came over from 3.5 The rotated labels on the axis are completely wrong - upside down But i can't find where to edit this property? However as it's legacy, should I now re-do this chart in the new way? Presumably this will expose the new charting options such as control of axis min/max values, and format etc? Thanks! Dan

Dynamic Image URL
Published (2009-12-21 14:00:00)
Many thanks to dankins for tracking this one down. The problem appears to be a bug in 3.5GA Report Designer (he confirmed that it is fixed in later version of the designer). I only had to publish my report to the server and it works. So to summarize: 1) use the content-field report element 2) Populate the attribute value with your column that contains URL 3) it will not work in designer (3.5GA), publish to your pentaho server and it works.

Not sure if I provided enough information about my issue: I am using an Oracle 10g Database and Pentaho 3.5GA Connecting via JDBC. Field with the File location is being recognized by report designer as a String. The locations is //myserver/images/Image Project/pic.jpg There is a space between Image and Project if that can cause Pentaho problems (please note that it does not as a ...

Watching a streaming tutorial I found the answer: it's yes. There's nothing special to do, simply you have to publish the report. Now I'm puzzled by another problem. Although the report seems to work perfectly in report designer, the published version doesn't work, in the tomcat console I see that an exception is thrown: "the parameters provided for this report are not valid". Ok, it looks like it's not a report related issue but more a server problem. When trying to execute the report based on Metadata on the server, I am getting this message : Code: 2009-11-04 09:56:58,072 ERROR [org.pentaho.metadata.repository.FileBasedMetadata DomainRepository] FileBasedMetadataDomainRepository.ERROR_0006 - domain not found: my_domain 2009-11-04 09:56:58,072 ERROR [...

Hey guys, after hitting google for a long time and surfing the documentation, I still can't find a way to combine two reports into one. It can be as easy as displaying them one after another in the single PDF. Is there a way to do this? Cheers! Walter.

Hello! Prompt please how to construct hierarchy of parameters. For me at parameter should be present "department" and "employee". At a choice "department №1" employees of this department (record "All employees") should be selected. For the report it is necessary to filter departments (the report on full department) and employees in department.

Make sure your report is configured to export text as UTF-8. (This has nothing to do with the encoding of the XML file.) To do that, set the configuration property org.pentaho.reporting.engine.classic.core.module s. output.pageable.pdf.Encoding to UTF-8. Also make sure that your fonts support the characters you want to export. Do not use the built-in fonts "Serif", "SansSerif" or ...

You could try some thing like the following: select * from A where coalesce({value}, 'some weird value that cant happen and can represent null') = coalesce(A.y1, 'some weird value that cant happen and can represent null') Don't know how well that would work on your db, but it seems to work ok on my postgres db good luck Wil
