Umm like it or not, the SCOTUS has ruled DUI checkpoints legal.... http://oyez.org/cases/1980-1989/1989/1989_88_1897 But, AFAIK you don't need to do anything other than provide your "papers." No talking necessary.

The ticket was a parking violation for a handicapped spot. BUT , My wife DOES have and WAS Issued a Temporary Handicapped placard by our local PD for when she was pregant and the post partum period. Its an out of battery detonation. You can see he doesn't pull back the charging handle far enough. despite him hitting the forward assist twice it wasn't enough. Overpressure caused magazine failure. At least that's my 3 cents (adjusted for inflation)

I have Champion brand safes. A big concern of mine was fire protection, and these are rated to keep the inside under the temperature to char paper after 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 hours in a 1500 degree fire. They have a good thickness of steel and good sized locking bars. They weigh about 900# apiece. Hope this helps.
