More progress. Yesterday we were talking about shopping for holsters, and I made a comment about her only needing one for CC (She has continually maintained that she would never ever ever OC. Ever.), and she said "Well, I would probably only OC at PAFOA events, or if we were around a lot of people OCing." I'm a bad influence

Weak side front pocket. Try to dress for easier concealability and access. ie: If blue jeans are hard to pocket carry in, maybe khaki dockers would be a better choice. Even buying a pair of pants one size larger would help with an IWB holster.

Well I want the spring field .45. I was just told that 1911 .45 are not as reliable as say the EMP in 9mm. The kimber know no history about. I need to shoot all of these and then make the decision.

You can buy AK pistols, so they would be legal to carry or keep in your car. However, they are unwieldy and heavy. It'd be a lot easier to carry a Glock 17 and a spare magazine (about 34 rounds). Also...if you really think you need that much firepower, you'd be better off moving to a more sedate area.

Here are two cents from a guy that can't CC because I live in NJ (just got my FL CCW permit last week), but has also been doing a ton of research on my own: 1. Determine what caliber you want to carry or are comfortable carrying. 2. Determine what size gun you want to carry or are comfortable carrying. 3. Make your list of candidates based on those two criteria. 4. Go fondle and shoot as many of them as you can and figure out what you...

My wife carrys her S&W 642, along with a Shurfire light & her pepper spray, in a Blackhawk fanny pack on her daily walks with the dog. I've used it before & it works pretty well. For purse carry, she has a cheap IWB clip holster that she attaches to one of the pockets inside her purse.

It is perfectly legal to reduce in size and laminate the Centre Co. LTCF. You can also add a photo before you laminate it. I'm not sure if Centre adds the photo or not. On your original Q about counties that do issue the driver's license type LTCF, others will have to post their actual experience. Of course some sheriffs will not issue to a non resident, even though they are supposed to.

I am not a fan of +P in most calibers. I will use +P and +P+ 38s in a 357 but that's as far as it goes. Semi autos were designed to work in a specific pressure range. Too low a pressure will not cycle it; too high a pressure will at the very laest accelerate wear. There are those who say go to a stronger recoil spring. Don't they think John Browning thought of what weight spring should ...

The BUG carried most often an LCP which goes into a right breast pocket of a vest (it's small and light enough) or a jacket pocket. If I'm wearing a heavy enough shirt (flannel or similar) and the pocket has a button flap, it goes there.

I occasionally carry an SP101 which has the 3.06" barrel. I carry OWB in a Don Hume Model 721 holster. Nice holster, very high quality for a relatively low cost (about $60). For concealment, I wear a vest or sportscoat over it. This is one of two guns I also OC on occasion.

I have a friend that carry's a .380 for defense, she's about 5'4" 120# or so. We were talking about getting trigger time as she told me she only has 20 some rounds, and is afraid to shoot them [due to the difficulty in finding more]. I stated that not being practiced in shooting, that the firearm isn't going to help a lot unless you can use it effectively. This led to her method of carry...
