I just wanted to clarify my plan a bit. I can meet someone in ELK, Potter, Warren , Mckean, Cameron, Tioga, or just about anywhere at or above I80. Hell half the state travels up here during deer season Lol! I will be away till Sat. but I will check in on this thread when possible. It's just a thought. I'll get the ammo eventually. I'm not concerned. Actually I'll be in the Pocono's till Sat morn. So if any westies are...

Best place to buy a Mossberg 500...
Published (2009-11-29 00:33:00)
I am looking to get my first gun for Christmas and I want to get a Mossberg 500 for clay shooting, deer hunting and home defense. I live in the Pittsburgh area, can anyone suggest a good place to go that has the best prices? I've heard Cabela's has good prices, anywhere else I should try? Also any recommendations on barrels/combos to pick up? Should I get a rifled barrel for deer hunting? Thanks.

Hm. I would have loved to help. I used to make the trip up to Port Allegany the day after Thanksgiving every single year. Lost the land that I used to hunt about a year ago, though, so not making the trip this year.

The good man's payment arrived today. If anyone can help get the ammo from me to him, it would be appreciated. I'm close to Harmarville or Monroeville for those who may be using roads near there.

I went down to the court house to get mine renewed in December and it still took the full 45 days for the renewal.

If you live between Penn Hills and New Ken, I can offer to sample one of mine on the weekend of Dec 18, as I'll be in town with the in-laws. If you like it, you could take one off my hands right then and there (well, at an FFL, that is).
My favorite beer at this time of year is the Saranac 12 Beers of Winter.

I found one earlier this year purely by accident. I was shopping for a mouse gun and ended up buying it. Too small it isn't but very much a good size for carry. It's comparable sized with most shorter barreled autos. It's now my primary carry gun. I cannot reconcile why Beretta discontinued this weapon. The feel is extraordinary and it shoots extremely well. After I got it, even all three of my ...

Can anyone recommend a psychologist for the paperwork needed for Act 235 in the Pittsburgh area? I know I just need someone to administer the MMPI test; maybe I'm being paranoid, but I didn't want to just pick a name out of the book. I figure psychologists are human and maybe I'd schedule with one who was anti-gun who didn't think anyone who wanted to carry was "normal". It's possible.

I'd give a 5 to both Ace and Anthony Arms. Good stores, very friendly/helpful staff, good selection. Anthony Arms also has an indoor shooting gallery where you can try out certain pistols. If I was looking for something specific, I'd always check with them first.
I'd give a 4 to Sportsman's Warehouse. Good selection, the people behind the counter are fairly knowledgeable. Holster/...

I'm planning on going to the Monroeville gun show at the expo mart in Mid December. I'm hoping to find a good deal on a PF9 (or possibly P3-AT) there. As I've never been to a gun show before, any tips for what to look for (or what to steer clear of)?

If anyone knows of anyone hiring that pays well enough to survive on, let me know. East/Monroeville area.
Going to need health care benefits.
I'm a Graphic Artist/Graphic Designer, but anything will do if it pays the bills.
And some prayers would be helpful as well.
I've never been through this before.
Thanks.
