OK Brad Mathison, Dee Jones, Bill Mundis, Jim Eickiman..... Lets see how many more we can get hooked on one of the best riding opportunities in the central United States!!! Falling Leaf Rally put on by the Gateway BMW riders. http://www.gatewayriders.com/fl2008.htm So many people come to Arkansas looking for the best roads... I live here and go to Missouri when I want to get the...

Someone asked in a thread a while ago "why their front tire was wearing prematurely." Well at the time I had no clue but after reading a bit I do have a pretty good guess as to what is happening. The reason the front tire is narrower than the rear is for contact patch. The front tire is only designed to take 40% or less of the load of the bike when turning. the bike is designed to be ...

LET THEM EAT CAKE. That Gordon Gecko mentality aka "Greed is Good" is the problem. Sure, greed stimulates, motivates, but when unchecked is like cancer. And as for the homeowners that got caught, a majority were simply buying for profit not necessity. They were looking for a quick buck and didn't read the fine print. The feeding frenzy finally ate itself

I'd be surprised if the HP2S is produced past 2009. Then again, we'll have to see what BMW's marketing deptartment wants to do (in terms of the other R bikes) and what direction they want to apply focus. With that said, while the HP2S may be a 'replacement' for the R1200S, many components are shared but the biggest news item, etc was/is the engine. The CF stuff was done simply because ...

Do any of you have photos of your scraped valve covers (R1100S). I'd like to know how the scrapes manifest when created by extreme lean angles. (not by dropping as I already know what those impact scrapes look like) Please post 'em if ya got'em. Thanks!

Looks like Neal scored big time with his new bride Sarah. Congrats, Neal. Maybe start a "Show Your Bride" thread? Read the story (after the ad runs), it's pretty good: Eff'n Eff in the New York Times Sarah Chu and Neal J. Blangiardo were married on Saturday evening in Lenox, Mass. Betsy Holtzinger, a justice of the peace, officiated at Blantyre, an inn. Ms. Chu, ...

Yesterday was gonna ride east for lunch and "tour" some canyons along the way. Saw menacing clouds that direction so pointed the front wheel west to nearby Kenosha Pass and South Park. Uncertain weather developed quickly, and while it seems I'm usually a magnet for precipitation, this time it was falling everywhere but where I was at . So the tiny pocket camera was challenged with the ...

...just out of curiosity, kinda sorta like a "fun poll". As the saying goes, BMW riders come from all walks of life and it's always kinda cool to see what people do... I thought I start this thread and see what comes from it. I'll start with myself, naturally... ...my first job was a 3 year apprentice-ship as an electrician in Germany... then I went back to School (Medical) just ...

These last months of riding have been fun on both the R11S and the new guy in the garage, the HP2. Most all of my time spent on the HP has been in a effort to get the shocks right for real world roads and the last few weeks have really worked out to the good. I now feel very sure on the bike and have learned some of its turn-in quirks and handling traits at higher speeds on open road sweepers....
