The carters have no shaft seals You can easily fit a guard to keep the pump safe, my guard is stronger than the tanks plate.

Nizbits who sells parts on this Forum, sold me a plastic bottom tank and gasket was about $50 odd, then I took to radiator shop and they fitted it.

There's about a 10 mm gap between the base of the shroud and the intercooler radiator itself and only a small surface area at the corners that the shroud covers, and where the airflow isn't direct, so there's really not much disturbance going on. But what the shroud really does in seal the fan to intercooler interface, somewhat like the one shown for the 2.8, so I really don't think there's an air flow problem. Cheers Ray

Hi Dknuke, yes i know: 93000 kms, but with a small mistake from me: it's a 2005 model, not a 2006 one. i saw several 2006 models with new engine in classified advertisements, i don't know the reason but we can think it’s the same failure… cheers.

Best price on turbo for ZD30?
Published (2009-12-02 15:08:00)
Hi. Send Nizzbits off this forum a Private Message and ask. He does all Nissan spare parts at great prices for members. Yes I believe you do have to bolt up the water outlet as new one is not water cooled. Matt

Q's on Dawes/neddle setup
Published (2009-12-05 12:15:00)
I have completed the set up of my DAWES/ Needle valve, seems to be a bit harder to drive off in 2nd gear like i used to, (Manual), have bypassed the Module as per instructions, boost Max is 17PSI still need to play with adjustments. is this normal to lose a bit of torque. Have used 4mm fuel hose for all connections except the original hoses to Air filter. Would these hoses be too smal.

ZD30 Intank Lift pump
Published (2009-12-05 12:35:00)
google up VP44 lift pump. heaps of off the shelf systems in the USA. however they do tend to run higher pressure. i think some run intank tho i don't know what pump they use. however one problem of intank pump is how to have a bypass in case fuel pump fails. with the dodges running without a lift pump is fatel, so a bypass is of no use to them. but our smaller engines run ok without a lift pump therefore we can run with a dead pump and...

theres not many in tank pumps i could recommend. the problem is very few EFI style pumps pump enough VOLUME. diesel you need low pressure, HUGE flow. probably 2 high flow EFI pumps would be ok. but its far cheaper just to fit a holley/carter etc.
there are some very good pumps designed for race motors but afaik they are all external.

1. Check your water pump & thermostat.
If the bottom hose is not getting hot it either has no coolent circulation (see above) or there is no coolent.
2. Use Coolent of the correct type, not water.
Water WILL cause internal corrosion in the cooling system.
3. Coolent systems will build pressure, as coolent heats it expands.
As the space is constant within the coolent system but the...

Why would you put a mechanical (I think you mean a normal boost) actuator (the vacuum one is still mechanical anyway) onto the VNT?? I know that they can be converted but why in this application?
And then use a dawes valve (which is pressure device used with vacuum actuators) when you have a boost actuator?
This is square block through round hole situation.
Why would a fault code ...

I’ve got a Bosch Aquatak 115 plus cost around $330 about 4 years ago from Bunnings. It has 4 attactments with it 1 of them is on a ball which allow you to angle it up to about 80 degree which is great for under guards. It washes 2 cars most weekends and still going strong and has 5 metres of hose. .

Hey mate, something must be shorting out. Got any accessories that take a feed off the cluster? Somtimes people hoook up after market gauges to the dimming circiut so there gauge lights dim with the dash. Pull the cluster and check for pinched wires

I just put a set of Fox 2.0 Remote Res shocks in the front of my heavy GQ...worth every $$ IMO.
I'm yet to try them out over corrugations but high or low speed over rocks and flat out accross really rough paddocks, trying to hit pot holes etc to try them out, you hardly even feel the front wheels going up and down, the cab stays nice and steady. No bouncing or anything.
Can't comment ...

Can you give me the basic principles on why you use the laminove core, i assume its giving you better results but is that just because of its size or other factors?

Hi Mate, got the superiors drop boxes and they were fairly easy to fit. they do not require welding at all but do reqiure a little cutting in the mounting position to make them fit. You will recieve a pictorial instruction with them on where and how to cut. Not a big Deal and very easy to do. Basically making a round hole a square is the extent of the cutting.
Mathematically and ...

DON'T JUST SHUT IT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!! BAD!!
About 550 is hot. When it gets toward there, just back off and if need be, select another gear and drop the revs and more importantly, the boost. DON'T just shut it down.

I'd be going back to the mechanic. The tensioner & belt normally come as a kit, & should be replaced together. I should check mine, as I don't know if my tensioner was replaced last time.

i would bet its the turbo vanes sticking.
dawes valve might limit the boost, otherwise pull the turbo out and clean it up.

Had a similar experiance once, didn't bother to air up after a trip and had a air filter full of dust, and I struggled with egts.
Pulled into the servo, air in tyres, tapped out the air filter a bit, and back to normal egts.
However you said that all your filters are new (i presume this includes air).
