AIMSURPLUS has 5.45x39mm AR uppers!

Chuck, I'd like to see something on that too (the rust blooms)! I know chroming can flake but I'd also like to know.....did the guy practice the "Greg Treatment of Dual Body/Upper Cleansing?" (I do honestly feel the shower treatment is about as effective as it gets). I bought my CVA muzzleloader in 1994 and have shot it fairly extensively, even practicing with it all day shot after shot. Then I cleaned the barrel...

The UTG is a large and for the most part clunky clamp on rear sight. I'm going to hint around that I want a Magpul BUIS for Christmas.

Thanks Pitbull, it was my understanding the factory "triangle" front sight caused issues with co-witnessing sights... Thanks for clearing that up. usrifle

M1 Carbine that's a bit odd...

AA stands for "Augusta Arsenal" and the "X" is probably the inspector's initial or letter designation. "AN" would stand for Anniston Arsenal. Maurice

I would love to have that 03 stock if you decide to sell it when you find an original.

CMMG Bargin Bin M4 arrived today
Published (2009-11-21 03:21:28)
So this is an entirely new thing for me. Never had a black rifle before. Have probably only HELD a black riffle about six times before today. But Pitbull's post on the CMMG Bargin Bin got me thinking and, well, I am going to blame him for wherever this leads... Ok, I still don't know how to post pictures so you all will need to bear with me. Essentially, my gun is identical to Pitbulls condition wise. I have a Double Star lower. Is...

HoosierDaddy wrote: I have a standard triangle front sight. The size of the UTG is the problem. It's profile at the front covers the buttons on the EOTech. So can you set up a Co Witness system using the triangle front sight? Oh, yes. I'm totally co-witnessed with my Matech and the EoTech with the stock F-marked FSB. I've also co-witnessed with the EoTech, Magpul BUS, and stock F-marked FSB. No issues with either.

I didn't mean to buy this gun. It was on Auction Arms and I placed a fair bid on it and expected to get outbid, but ended up getting an email that said "You Win".. Not complaining, as the price was fair, and the gun's way better than expected. That said, it's not like my other carbines, and I have some questions for those in the know.. Click on the photos to make them bigger. The stock's marked RMC, or...

M1 Carbine that's a bit odd...

In the later war days, these laminated, brazed-together trigger guards were introduced by several makers. Your Carbine is a typical rebuild with the original flip sight replaced by a later style stamped adjustable, and a bayonet lock added. It has the original type flat bolt and the later flip safety, a non-M2 magazine catch and a earlier war operating slide.

What rear sight are you using? Here's my CMMG with MATECH DPMS w/ CMMG upper & Magpul MBUS I sighted my BUIS in first. Then I put the EoTech on, dropped the red dot on the top of the sight post, and surprise. It was on paper. Slight adjustment, and we have a winner...all in the black.

Thanks! That accords well with what I seemed to remember. It seems fairly certain that DHT receivers and bolts were made prior to the introduction of the swept bolt handle. The three 'J5' bolts I have seem all correct and unaltered. I thought one of them would be most appropriate in one of my Mark I rifles, which currently has a (good) Bonney Forge bolt in it. mhb-Mike

Should be safe to shoot however accuracy "may" not be that great due to the "jump" in the rifling.

S/n 5002004 was never assigned to Standard-Products. It looks like it was assigned to Inland, and would date to about March 1944. Can you post photos of the receiver heel?
