Bluetooth Related Issues with...

I think it's fairly safe to say that the Pre with 1.3.1 has issues with Nissan/Infiniti. Has anyone heard from Palm as to whether the upcoming 1.3.5 update might fix the issues we're all experiencing? They seem to be pretty consistent and reproducible.

Not Defaulting to Bluetooth...

Good morning: Since my Pre upgrade to 1.3, incoming calls do not automatically route through my bluetooth headset. Upon answering the call, I have to manually press the speaker button then choose Bluetooth and then I can hear through the headset. Needless to say, this causes an uncomfortable delay in my response, with cliens yelling are you there . . can you hear me . . . etc. I use the Aliph Jawbone 2 and this is the only problem...

I am writing to suggest a RFE (request for enhancement) in the area of bluetooth connectivity. Namely I believe it would be beneficial for the webOS devices to pair with multiple devices that have mutually exclusive profile capabilities. This is to say that given the situation where a webOS device is in the neighborhood of a few devices each having different capabilities the webOS device should be able to simultaneously pair with all devices...

Does a wireless router such as the DLink provide WiFi connectivity to the PRE? The Sprint network coverage at our house is rather poor.

I don't know if I do. People have told me that when you get a Smartphone, you automatically have to pay for the data plan too. I'm not sure about this, because I have had no additional charges since switching. Is this true though? However, my aunt, the one who pays the bills, has internet on her Blackberry. Does this internet apply to all phones on the plan or just hers? So I basically just asked like 5 questions . Please help! Post...

After an add-on AUX unit failed in my 2001 beemer, the car audio dude talked me into "just upgrading" my stereo to a Kenwood BT stereo with all the neato bells & whistles. It wouldn't sync with my Pre =( however, after I rebooted the phone, it did find the phone. Dude is all "yeah, I just did one with another Pre the other week and it went fine." [BS!!!]. On the way home, I stopped at a...

I just upgraded to Web OS 1.3.1 per the online chat person and it seems to have corrected the issue for me. Haven't done serious testing but I'm hopeful! you just go to the downloads box and if you are at 1.1.1 is will offer you an upgrade. takes a bit of time...but what doesn't on the pre!! Published (2009-12-14 13:22:00)
My Palm TX will hotsync with Windows XP via USB only. I cannot get a wifi hotsync. I can get on my wireless home network and surf the net, but I cannot hotsync to my computer through my wireless home network. I've tried everything I can think of. I cannot find my computer on my TX during a Hotsync search with the Firewall on, or off. I've hard reset my TX, I've hard reset and wiped my TX. I've entered my Computer name...

Well, you can't get a new Pre without also subscribing to a data plan from Sprint. And, if you were to purchase one second-hand, I doubt that Sprint would activate it without, again, purchasing a data plan. Message Edited by smkranz on 08-21-2009 10:31 PM

I thought the device would be able to setup a modem for wifi but unfortunately it does not support that function. The next suggestion is to turn off your data connection completely. To do that tap on your cell signal in the top and then comm manager. In the bottom there should be an option for data connection on/off. Turn off and just leave it off. This should help to control your data ...

We are trying to collect data for all customers that are having issues related to pairing their Palm Pre to car kits, however this data is spread among tons of threads and many different boards. To resolve this we would like to consolidate this list down to one board and tell you up front what information we need. If you are having issues around using Bluetooth with your Car Kit please ...

Well, this is all terribly convoluted, if you allow me .... Configuration: Thinkpad T60, 2 Gig ram, Win XP, all latest software updates, firmware up to date, etc..... Phone: Palm Centro Palm Desktop by Access, version 6.22 Mine comes and goes as it pleases.. last time I had to reinstall the Bluetooth package to make it work again, but the real catch I am flabbergasted by, is...

Ditto that, though until about a week ago I could sync my TX via Wi-Fi without problems. Now it doesn't get past the initial screen, then the error that I should check my connections, etc. I want this back so I'm gonna work on it.

We used to sell a Palm WiFi card but no longer do. IF you look toward eBay I'm sure you can find it still selling there.

Palm Desktop was designed for Windows XP and Windows Vista 32-bit. We haven't done thorough testing with the broad range of third-party equipment running Windows 7 and therefore can't provide assurances about compatibility. First, I get the same error. I don't know why it happens, but I do know that connecting to the internet via bluetooth to your mac is harder than that. My dad found a website that explains how to do it(the bookmark is on his computer so I can't get it atm) but it's all this technical stuff... nothing straightforward thats for sure. I will post again when I get the link.
