Oh jeez you guys crack me up: 12 customers out of 62 million. Go pay easy prices. Go pay baby prices. Flintstone, living in the stone age: passed over by airline after airline so takes a job kissing ass, humping bags and serving food and drinks. So sad. Did Ryanair turn you down because you couldn't pass the sim? I'll pass your comments about tax free per diems and your food to HMRC: they can find out who you are and who you work for...

This thread gets detached from reality too easily. The company offers jobs at a rate. If it fills the jobs with adequately qualified people producing the quality required, then presumably the 'rate' it set was right. I have absolutely no influence on the 'rate'. Take me, and all pilots who earned any pension rights elsewhere out of the system, and pilots who made a property killing, or did well in industry outside airlines-...

Latetonite, B757,A320,A330 and A340 is my background. What's yours? I have never seen such a cretinously stupid reply as the one given to an honest question by the thread starter. So, to summarise, it wasn't difficult to draw the conclusion that I came to. Why didn't you give the reply first time round? Perhaps you prefer to keep information all to yourself.

Sorry to buck the trend, but, latetonite, you have my sympathies, some folk just don't like to hear it as it is.

No,, £572 per week it cost too much to have £3500 a month so I went for cover that will pay for the important stuff and enough left for food and general crap after.

Quote: When will the Ryanair contracted pilots stand up for themselves. Let there be a full review of the contracts and pay. The company is still expanding and buying more aircraft. Work to rule and turn up to the STN crew room 45 mins before STD, and see how many planes are going to start leaving on time, especially now the crew room is less then half it's original size!! Oh dear, another airline numpty. Pilots will just have to accept...

and even worse for an FO, I believe £3250 plus allowances.
8 or 9 days off a month.
Routes unknown, but will be mainly scheduled. Aer Lingus subcontract I am guessing???

Career wise, GWI is like a fleet of DLH mainline. One seniority list for everybody, one union for everybody. Selection is also the same, via DLR in Hamburg. RE's only get in when there is not enough interest from DLH's own flight school in Bremen.
Basic salary is the same, although as a CPT, you start with 3 step increases lower than mainline, so you can become CPT pretty quickly. Profit ...

Last example Avantair......are companies in US out of their freaking minds?!
I would just like to have a feedback from the community.
It is outrageous that companies now, mostly in the US, are asking for unseen minimums paying peanuts. Examples: according to Avantair a competitive F.O. will have 5000hrs TT, 1500Multi,500 Turbine..............

It's Lorenzo's recipe: when company gets unrecoverable, force the union(s) into strike by giving them completely outrageous proposal so when the company goes under, ignorant majority blames the striking workers.
Whichever way it turns out, there will be new source of experienced pilots. Not that there's much demand nowadays, anyway.

So far been told that you have to pay for trip and accomodation in Bazel to sit interviews and sim checks, no idea on pay until stage 2 of the process.
Sorry I know it's not much help right now.

I have some friends who applied with more than 1500 hours on the ATR and
they were told that they were not preselected. I think company has
recruited enough pilots.
