I really wish the US FAA kicks the DGCA's But* more often like they did. There are better and way more things for the DGCA to do than have an EFFIN slogan. Just imagine they are so UNDERSTAFFED and UNDER EDUCATED that they cant even think of a Normal Slogan and actually have to post it on the Official Website! Funny Little group of Morons. I wish i was the Civil Aviation Minister!.

Where will they get the expat aircrew? No one in their right mind will work for MDLR or anyone associated with them unless there is money up front. Recruiting Avro RJ pilots from abroad will be very difficult. I understand there are no Indian Avro RJ commanders. Adverse publicity outside India will not help recruitment.

Yes, there is a record of command upgrades and this policy has just been revised and published.
There is a strong probability that an FO will be offered the opportunity to upgrade in the first 5 years, realistically after 3 to 4 years of joining.
Look carefully at the requirements to join as an FO, the salary being paid. Pretty crappy deal if you're not living in the US, considering the...

Good day to you, allow me to just help get the ball rolling here;
Does the flight time include hours flown in a cessna 150 or cessna's for that matter? for example hours that you gained during your training as a student pilot all the way through CPL/IR/ME ratings?
500 hours is grand total (minimum) on your experience. This is not type specific (for obvious reasons).
Would being a ...

Im sorry if I made your blood pressure rise. maybe you should start taking your pills everytime you log in PPRuNe.
just make sure the cadets are scheduled in the Sim.
but before you do that. try to find an IFR 172 for them first. that way they know it feels to shoot an actual approach inside an aircraft.

3 excellent posts!! Indeed General Aviation in Sri Lanka has suffered due to unsuitable/incompetent authority at CAASL. This issue has to be put right, if aviation in this country is to prosper.
We need suitably qualified Aviators (ex or current), allocated to the proper positions at CAASL. We need active decision makers who understand the requirements of aviation in this country and will act...

Merpati is owned by the Indonesian government and I don't think they hire
expat pilots. Not that I know of anyway. Merpati pilots are often the first
to be looking elsewhere in Asia for jobs so for a foreigner to be wanting
to work there says a lot about the desperate times we live in.

Appreciate your concern for your friend..
Ask him to stay there and hit his ATPL (ATP in ur world)..
and then come to india and obtain an Indian ATPL..
Ensure he s got atleast 500 hours minimum on Twins of the total 1500.
Then he might stand a chance of being hired in india that too as an P2.

With your language skills, I would think you would be very popular as a flight instructor with some of the schools that teach the Chinese students. You could build lots of hours, improve your Chinese, and network, so when the time comes, you know all of the right people flying in China. I'm sure they might help work out a visa for you at the school.
