What Black Hands said above. Quote: Yes a good find no doubt, but the pilot does a walkaround inspection, CASA are happy with just that. Ask Virgin. The justification that an incident somewhere was avoided because of someone won't stop CASA joining the rest of the world. You're not even supposed to be checking the tyres of wear, only for damage(which the pilot is supposed to do) on the transits anyway. Thats what a check 3 is for. In...

Quote: A Jetstar spokeswoman said flights were sometimes cancelled for scheduling reasons if they could not be filled but that it was not a daily occurrence. Yes, as all Airlines in Australia have done for as long as I can remember. And that is a LONG time.

I am genuinely sorry that you feel that way fencepost. I am also disappointed that what was a logical analysis of, what I believe to be, an intentionally misleading piece of "journalism" became so highly emotive for some, which is exactly what the article was designed to do. The moderators though, do not seem to share your opinion as no posts have been deleted and the thread has not been locked. Why is that I wonder?

Quote: some real fare paying passengers might like to comment I already have. Orangputi , My issue with your comments is that you have yourself 'shot the messenger'; I wrote earlier that QF punter-facing staff, on the whole and in my own experience, do their best with the increasingly limited tools available to them ; those limitations are imposed from above. Yes I agree you get some time-servers, but like you, I'm...

Well why have a tower? If they are only going to give traffic, and landing clearances. The CAGRO gives traffic now and we have that traffic information at 30 miles which gives us time to fit in. Just another waste of the public purse!

There will always be people who will put QF down because they are lovers of Asia and Asians.Nothing QF crew or any western airline does will ever compensate.Interestingly I have found some of Orangputi's previous posts to show my point. Quote: I have a 2 day layover in Shanghai with another chap and we are both partial to a drink and the local talent any bar suggestions that ensure a good night and a bunk up . 'The Engines and All the Systems Performed As Expected' (Everett, Wash., December 9, 2009) -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) successfully completed the first engine runs for the 747-8 Freighter. The milestone marks another step in the 747 program's steady progress in preparing for flight test. How does TIGER escape the wrath of the media? Was it not a Tiger flight that was cancelled leaving this lady, her husband and guide dog stranded in AD? That being the case then surely the airline that cancelled the flight and left them stranded must have had some responsibility to arrnage on carriage for their stranded passenger who has special needs. Would it not have been expected customer service that the airline that cancelled the flight...

Sunfish, we all wish cabin crew were as in the seventies, but then you have to consider the difference. Firstly, the cabin crew were offered a job for life if they so wished. Secondly, the word contract had never been heard of. Thirdly, cabin crew were mainly selected on their ability and often came from the ranks of trained nursing sisters, or school teachers, etc, thirdly, they did not come from the me, me, me, generation, they came from...

Qantas need new aircraft like yesterday! The 767, 744 are in bad need of replacement not just a coat of paint and the issue cannot wait until the 787 comes online! The A380 is not going to remedy the product it is going to exacerbate it! Try having all the bells and whistles on one aircraft and the tired old cabin everywhere else. If this delay keeps going the only way for GD's team ...

Great news from the FEDS News info released today regarding transfers within the Qantas group. Thanks to the AFAP, pilots will no longer have to wait three months if they want to transfer between Eastern/Sunstate and either Jetstar or Qantas. Well done!

I'm of the understanding that an RPT carrier can't do that in Australia. They must operate to their schedule regardless of their load. I suspect Air Asia does it in Malaysia as they have so many retimed flights a day, it's a joke.
