Does anyone else not find it terribly ironic that the infamous "Cleo pose" is of a guy in a torn-open pilot shirt in front of a swimming pool ?

I don't agree, what if you are applying for a job that you need a particular endorsement for or turbine time? We recently advertised for a role on a PT6, we required an endorsement for immediate start. The early bird gets the worm and the early bird has an endorsement!

Magic Fingers Welcome to the debate, however I take issue with you in that members of this thread have tried to suppress the debate by suggesting that those with contrary views refrain from posting. While posters have views that can be substantiated in one way or another, they will be listened to, certainly by the majority here. On the other hand, if someone comes on and starts making deriding remarks punctuated by " we know CO2 is...

Quote: This was a great topic ruined by airsupport and his hypocritcal comments. An old man set in his ways with his biased views and his own agenda to hijack a topic by insulting those the topic is about. He obviously feels a LAME is far superior to pilots and bags everyones comments that won't support his views. I take it you are yet another school child, judging by your shocking spelling etc, and your lack of knowledge about Aviation....

Tris / Yj-lgf The Tail engine draws fuel form both main tanks Or one can select form RH or LH Tank, the Tips just feed in to the Mains on either side. Of cource on a ferry flight, one needs about 2000 Liters of ferry tanks/bladders inside as they uses about 165 Litres a hour with 3 engins running for up to 14 hours and about a Km of runway to get off form and they get along at about 130 Kts. Tas. They were lucky to see 105 Kts. over the...

I think Atlas before you get too worked up that this fella has done a search on the forum then asked a question on an old thread. If he didn't do this some clown will more than likely have said 'use the search function' P.S I'd take the Bose over the ZULU anyday! P.S.S The DC 13.4 is the way to go if you are heading bush!

An interesting thread. A relative of the Mrs Drivr with a lengthy and fairly distinguished career behind him in the media made similiar observations to Zeebee and Lodown as regarding the levels of intellectual competence he'd seen come into his industry over twenty odd years. His overall conclusion (I must admit to it being a VERY long conversation fuelled by a mass consumption of various reds, white etc and therefore my recollections are...

Just buy them over the internet from somewhere on the east coast & pay for express delivery - you'll have them in a couple of days & it'll probably be cheaper.

An accurate post insofar as I can see, however I think that employees come under a different classification and therefore will get some say as to whether the company will be wound up, put under administration and turned around thence sold or put under administration thence placed back in the hands of the directors.
What is most important is what company is the AOC associated with?
Hope ...

If its anything like the ASL in Maroochy they will flick through your book and look for anything obvious and make you erase it if they see it. So you could either write it in very lightly or write it in hard then erase it. You should still be able to see it.
They also get you to erase route distance totals. People wrote the total distance for routes known to be used in the exam on our ERC ...

It's a tough one, most of the insurance companies don't consider you a pilot unless you fly for the airlines. Anything smaller and you're a 'risk'.
12 months ago I couldn't find any income protection insurance that would cover me in GA. All I could get was insurance if I suffered a serious injury, i.e. trauma, and a top up on my life insurance. I spoke to a broker at XLife and they organised ...

The thread on D/E Captains at VB has taken an interesting twist with a suggestion that seniority systems drive down pay and conditions.
I thought that it might warrant a separate thread, particularly as:
a) It is topical
b) Underlying the world economic situation, there is a latent massive pilot shortage.
The career airline pilot is often (rightly or wrongly) compared with ...

I have finally taken the plunge and bought a Diamond DA40-180 in the USA & will be ferrying it back to Sydney with a ferry pilot. 80% of people think I am mad and should crate & ship it back. The other 20% want to come
My ferry pilot has done a few Atlantic crossings but never done the Pacific. He is a very experienced pilot & a friend, hence why I have chosen to fly with him, rather ...
