Sadly, as I described earlier, if they receive a majority 'Yes' vote from a minority of returned ballot papers then that constitutes a 'Yes' for IA. Then all members of the Union 'should' take part in IA. As has been previously stated either vote 'No' if you wish to vote or resign from the Union. Unite 100%!...........errr............no............perh aps........ Unite 34%......maybe?

For those of you who have not yet voted and may be concerned about some of the posts you have read on here - to clarify here are the facts: The vote is your personal choice YES or NO - fact The Company can do nothing to you if you vote YES - it is unlawful if they do - fact If you do not vote at all, you might as well have voted YES, because it is only returned votes that count - fact If you vote Yes then you may be in breach of your...

Hey A Lurker, Thanks for your answers earlier. I may not agree with what you're saying, esp regarding the first two questions, but you're entitled to your opinion. I'm interested to hear your answer to my third question. Have you had a chance to put something together? Thanks Gg

Dear Midman, Facts/figures/facts/figures/facts/figures..... Like myself, and all other interested parties including non BA staff on this thread, we will always read and remember what we want to. I have heard many comments, especially those of a very close friend who is doing very well in the City, that the current events within BA are not being viewed as being that rosy. However, no point discussing that , as we all have our own views. Going...

Did anyone post this on this thread? He seems fairly specific on his figures: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/c...s-part-II.html A Lurker, I think the question of BASSA avoiding the accounts review has been answered, but if you want to try and blame BA for BASSA's refusal to sign an NDA then let me know. In my job I sign them all the time, and it is a fair and reasonable request. I suspect we all know why BASSA didn't want to sign...

You said.. Quote: If New Fleet is imposed there will certainly be another round of meetings and ballots and a threat of IA will once again happen. Your response seems to suggest that there is a question mark over whether 'New Fleet' will be coming. Re read the communication from our company (6th Oct) about future crew. I think it's totally clear. Wouldn't you want that as item 1 if it was your list? Is it excluded because...

Is this 34% just the amount they recieved for the re-election of reps though. I know it was a BASSA bulletin that gave the results of who was re-elected and only 34% of papers were returned!! Unless only 34% of strike ballots were sent back. I was under the impression they do need a majority return to make it valid as a 100% YES from 34% of the membership actually means only 34% of the membership votes yes if you see what I'm, saying....

Quote: They have received only around 34% of the paper ballots, for ALL fleets, from all members eligible to vote. What happens if the majority of the 34% of votes say yes? Will Bassa then be able to claim an overwhelming majority for IA?

Hi GlamGirl, I agree with you re-union good at getting naughty crew out of trouble. Ironic isn't it that they are now about to get a lot of crew in trouble by asking them to vote for strike action! Ps, Thanks GG, settings disabled!

A Lurker Of course it was about the election of representatives and not the strike ballot - Did I insinuate otherwise? Maybe using the term "paper ballot" in the sentence above confused you. If it did - I apologise and stand here both chastened and rebuked. I should have put 35% from ALL FLEETS instead - as it is more accurate to the average than 34%. My apologies.

Hi all.
I fly often from DXB-LHR on Ek's 773's.
Usually at the back about 47B. I like going to the galley at the back and have a chat with the crew, although I try to avoid it when you're having your food and a break. I've always found it a pleasant experience and as I am based in Dubai, enjoyed having a drink and swapping tales and general gossip about the town. Does it bother you when pax ...

well it would appear a little unprofessional even if meant to be light hearted. Would probably result in a "chat" with the safety dept and a reminder of the seriousness of critical stages of flight and FA responsibilities during those periods.
Some airlines do not even allow the use of electronic devices like digital cameras during take off and landing. I guess its nice for the home video ...

Yeah, but he'd have to buy 3 seats.
Definition of obese is a Body Mass Index over 30 (BMI is weight in Kg, divided by height, in meters, squared). I will bet, any amount of money, that the person in the picture is grossly obese.
Apart from anything else, what about the poor folk who have to sit next to him?

It's never bothered me (mid 40s), but then I don't like being called "Sir" anyway as it always reminds me of the police or the tax man!
What would you prefer as an alternative?

I took Danielle Lloyd, questionable celeb status, old boot off Big Brother to AGP in the summer; exactly what you'd expect, tacky/abusive/full of her own self importance!
Awesome when another passenger told her to " Just shut up..."!

It's probably time this old, old question was asked again because sooner or later you'd think airlines might do something.
The question is....when are airlines going to get serious about pax who persist in bringing carry on baggage that is well in excess of the so-called limits?
A case in point for me was a QF flight from Adelaide to Brisbane last week. As far as I could see every seat...
