Glad its working again. I don't use the database much in the psion, so not usre if I can help there. I do use NeoOffice on the mac, it's a derivative of OpenOffice, and it may be worth having a look at as it does accept lots of different file types. Worth a download anyway. Howard

Thank you so much. I am pleased to say that one simple download from that source you mention solved the problem immediately and it is working now. I didn't need to explore the complexities of "32 bit" etc which I don't really understand. One other thing, it would be nice if one could import a Psion database as it stands in the original into the Mac. I can do it by exporting the Psion database file as a text file and...

You could try first of all using the usb adapter with a windows machine. If it works with that then try again. It does work, I use mine with a Keyspan usb adapter with no problems, but not all adapters are equal. From memory there was a video or a run through on the source page of Java psion link.
