Sorry D should have clarified. My local shop has around 15 different models in differing shapes and configurations. Some have triple fans some double fans and a couple have massive single fans. Are they all much of a muchness or is there any particular feature I should look for or avoid? I keep burning my crown jewels so I really need something to keep the heat off.

One way to track down the problem child is to shut off everything in msconfig, then add them back in one at a time until the problem recurs. That last program restarted will be the one causing the shutdown hang.

My 2 cents are dont bother with them.. If everything is working fine dont worry about it. I update my operating systems when service packs come out other than that I dont. You may be different though. Everyone is different some like to keep their pc up to date other like me dont like the extra headache that comes with updating all the time!! QUOTE I read somewhere the other day about the upgrade not losing any of your files during the procedure, but not replacing them until the very end. I plan on a backup anyway, but is that true.
