Nice feature. Okay, I went through the process myself and created another account. Originally I didnt understand the way it would block a site...but there are levels of restriction for sites, 4 or 5 i believe. If you guys are familiar with Adblock Plus, I figured a list of sites had to be loaded into to it, like easylist USA. That feature does work pretty good. -------------------- PC Pitstop Rocks!

If it's the Lanparty in your sig., I don't see why not. You may have to check BIOS and make sure that RAID is enabled on that set of SATA ports.....

Your welcome. I think that because you are having trouble going to certain sites and downloading/running security software, that your hosts file may be messed up. Restoring to the original will fix that, so if you can at least download that program and clear out temporary files you may be able to download some anti-malware software. Have you run any of her on-board security programs? Even if they cannot be updated, scanning in safe mode may...

Snakeystew If you did manage to inadvertently remove a system file running the sfc utility should restore it. Seeing as you didn't specify Vista or XP here is how to run it for both, Vista - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833 XP - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310747

I recently put an old hard-drive in my machine as a primary slave, mainly with the view to transferring my old files off it, onto my current machine. When it ran, AVG picked up all sorts of nasty things on it but reported that they were all resolved. Since then though, i had an intermittent problem where the machine would start to boot then when it reached the XP boot screen, it would be dim, ...

My computer is running so slow. I checked task manager and RPS.exe showed grabbing 99% of my CPU capacity, seems to be the problem. This is associated with PC Guard which is my security (virgin). When I reinstalled PC Guard, the computer ran better for a few days and RPS was present, but using nil CPU, but it is now back to as it was...

Try doing the full test on this site and post a link to your results Here is how you make a tech express link http://forums.pcpitstop.com/index.php?act=techexpr esshelp It can either rule some things out or give a good idea where the problem lies. In any case its always a good idea to do first.

Hi, Recently built a computer for our kids (10yr, 8yr, 5yr) as a christmas gift. I'm interested in ideas of ways to safely limit what they are allowed to do without completely locking the internet out. We don't want them to be able to freely access the internet, but want to allow some feeling of freedom at the same time. Thanks in advance

Ohhh noooooooo.... I bought an XFX 9800 GX2 for the PC in sig. Though the card is a behemoth, my tower is as well and all specs and advice claimed compatibility. Well the card fits (barely) in my tower, but the board placement of the two SATA cables is in the way in the back and won't let the card be seated. The same would apply for any of the card slots. I have 2 HD's with 2 SATA cables in...

I'm having a problem trying to adjust my paging file size. To be short, this is the problem: Basically, the pagefile size refuses to change, regardless of the number of restarts. If you google the title of this thread, it's a copy of an article with the same problem, in reverse (default size is too big). Now the solution had to do with the file system protection feature of Symantec ...
