I wouldn't buy either a Toshiba (poor reliability) or a Sony (overpriced and loaded with bloatware). Get a
Dell Vostro.

my real world transfer speeds are about 10mb\sec and want to get it faster. thanks! if your transfer rates are 10Mb/s (10
MegaBITS per second), then you've got a USB 1.1 connection going on somewhere. Either your (1) USB drive is 1.1 or (2) the mobo connector is USB 1.1. If your USB drive is 1.1, it would be cheaper to buy a newer USB 2.0 drive and just transfer all your info to the new ...

Hello,
If you are running Intel Storage Manager 8.9 then that is your problem not the drives. I ran into similar issues. I uninstalled 8.9 and installed 8.8 set the drive to normal status. After the rebuild the their has been no problems since then..

One of the first things I'd check is the ribbon cable that connects between the
system board and the display unit. This ribbon cable passes through the hinge for the display lid and is subject to working either end loose or partially fracturing in the hinge area.

See this Cnet user-review . From what I can gather, the exact same hardware was marketed as...

Try different RAM. Be sure to use one stick and check manual for proper slot. Also, re-check your wiring from the case to the mobo. It is very easy to switch the wiring rows, or be
off by one pin in placing the connections. Finally, how do you know that your replacement components are functioning? Are these coming from a working PC? Especially PSUs - they are notorious for being bad right ...
