Thin cysters who ovulate regularly?
Published (2009-12-03 23:02:00)
I think only men with fewer than 4% total normal sperm morphology are considered universally abnormal. They usually care more about volume, count, and motility because these are the defects that IUI can actually help. Lab techs are way too strict when they analyze sperm morphology... it's kind of like saying, any person who isn't proportioned like a supermodel is "abnormal". I'd ask the doctor about the...

Dr. can do blood work to check all of that egg etc. I have 2 kids with no medication. It took me like 7 months. I was told that's normal. I'm glade because my kids are 4 years apart.

Colleen87 - You got pregnant and are breastfeeding! That is great. I would like to get pregnant too but after 4 months of trying have had no success. How did you do it?

pink nails- breastfeeding came naturally but for pregnenacy I was on a bunch of herbs and meds. I was on metformin, ground flax seed, red raspberry leaf tea, vitex and spearmint tea. I stopped them mostly when I got pregnant though.

That's great Jana! I'm so glad the meds are working for you. Welcome to the 2ww! They are SOOO fun (not really). I have not tried metformin since I also don't have IR but I thought about bringing it up with my RE next time I see her. I was also looking at a low GI diet. Even if I'm not TTCinv in the future, I'd still like to have regular cycles and some clue when AF is coming. I had about 5 months of 30 day cycles at...

Thin cysters--did clomid work...
Published (2009-11-29 01:34:00)
Clomid was a no-go for me. I'm 5'3.5 and 122 lbs. I was started at 100 mg and also tried 150 mg. I was on met at the same time; it totally dried me up and the hormones totally whacked my body out.

Nope. I posted everything that was tested so far. I'll be sure to ask the endo about testosterone.

Can everyone post their DHEAS lab results.....this would be more helpful than just saying mine is high or low. We need to compare ladies, let's start asking for our lab reports. DHEA (Sulfate) 175.500 ug/dL LH/FHS Ratio: 2.4/1 Thin cyster: 112lbs No signs of IR but the doc thinks I am.

Katie and Miyu - Well, I went for the second ultrasound yesterday (cd 13) and I had one very large follicle that measured 25 mm. I was very excited (giddy!) and so was my doctor! I got the hsg trigger shot and I should ovulate within the next day. At this point, I'm just happy that I was responsive to the meds...and prepared to accept whatever happens at the end of this cycle. Katie: Have you ever discussed taking Metformin with your...

I'm sorry I don't have the answer... but I just wanted to add that it happened to me as well, more than once. I started shedding while I was still taking the progesterone...
I also thought it was the withdrawl of the progesterone that would trigger a period. I asked my doctor, he didn't understand it either....

I'm deferring my cycle for November so I can do an HSG... my first Clomid cycle in October was a bust and since I get my periods naturally and have positive ovulation test strips we need to rule out tubal pathology.
I wish you the best of luck!

Did they test for your testosterone levels? Elevated testosterone is one of the key features of PCOS. Good luck!

I'm glad you found this forum. I started "lurking" before I got my actual diagnosis. My Dr suspected PCOS and I wanted to find out more about it. All the women have been so supportive and helpful. I'm sure you'll find it informative. Good luck with your appointment!

high androgens that won't go down? Hi everyone,
I am so frustrated and was wondering if anyone else had the same thing and could offer any suggestions.

Have you had your thyroid thoroughly tested? What you're describing is a classic symptom of hypothyroidism. If you have, check your actual lab values - a lot of docs still rely on the old " normal" range for TSH, when in fact, it should be much narrower (i.e., 0.3 to 3.0, NOT 0.4 to 6.0)

You can be diagnosed with PCOS just on hormone levels (high testosterone) and irregular cycles. Not all women will show polycystic ovaries with the u/s. I am 5'3 1/2 123lbs, very healthy, and have no acne or noticeable excess hair (maybe a few minor ones I only notice and pick at). I do have elevated testosterone and no af on my own, though am not IR and have good cholesterol levels. I think ...
