three weeks on met and seeing...

Day 10 on Gluc and I am already starting to lose some weight only 4 pounds but its a start right. I've not had the massive diarhea issue I had before. Though once in awhile I will have small bouts with it but maybe 3 days out of 10. Last time I was on Gluc it was after every meal. Haven't really noticed anything else yet except I keep getting the AF coming feeling and then it goes away. Spotted for a few days but it was real light...

This post is awesome. I just started taking met a few days ago and was really nervous about it. After reading through all of these tips for a couple days I made sure to follow them when taking it and haven't had any problems aside from some gas. Thanks for all of the help!

Metforim and Food repulsion... -...
Published (2008-11-22 19:27:00)
I just started on it yesterday, and I'm only on 500mg, but the thought of food has already become something that I try to avoid, which is weird because I used to have this feeling like I could eat all day. Since I took my first dose, I haven't wanted food, which I know could go away, but I kind of don't want it to. I like that my life hasn't been ruled by food the past two days.

Metformin XR side effect?
Published (2008-11-19 22:07:00)
I've been on XR for a few weeks now and I was doing ok with it. Last night I uped my dosage from 500 to 1000. Today I have had bloody diarreah. I can't see how they could possibly not be related. Has anyone else had this or heard of it with Metformin XR? I am not sure if I should go to the emergency room or not. Any advice?

Metformin and breast changes

That just sounds like boob growing pains (and I would now about boob growing, I'm a 36G), I get random pains like that, and have for sometime, usually before I get my period. I just started Metformin today, so I don't know if your pain is unrelated.

I actually find it supresses my appetite..! But in the early days of taking it I felt nauseous all the time and had diarrhea a lot too. Those things have subsided so I've increased my dosage to the second tablet in the mornings. I found that if you're just starting out, start taking it at night with dinner. That way you sleep through a lot of the side-effects and it's not so bad. Then your body ...

I have lost my desire to cook...I will have turkey lunch meat, sliced cheese, and dill pickles for dinner. The simpler the better! Too much food and I feel sick to my stomach.

I find out tomorrow if I have to go on Metformin XR when my blood results come back in. What should I expect if I have to go on it? My mom has been on it, but I don't want to ask her for some odd reason.

I haven't lost any weight yet but I also haven't been exercising. I have been watching what I eat and "trying" to eat low carb though. But I've noticed over the past few days that I'm not losing nearly as much hair as I was before starting met!!!!!! Soooooo I'm assuming the met is working at something!??!?!?!?!?! Maybe weight loss is around the corner?

I'm not IR & I've been on met (worked up to 1500mg) since Oct 9th - so about 1.5 mo - and I'm wondering how long it took you ladies to cycle with it! I normally don't cycle at all, but have been for a few months with Chinese herbs & acupuncture. However...I'm getting ready to get day 3 testing done w/ a new RE and have stopped the herbs b/c I want them to see what met alone does for me (& ...

I just started met about 4 weeks ago and I seem to be more tired than normal all the time. I am lucky that I haven't had some of the bad side effects like diarreah or nausea, but I'm wondering if anyone else has been tired on met? And if so did it go away after you were on it awhile or is it here to stay?

About 2 months ago my doctor put me on the Synthroid, a thyroid drug, Then about a 3 weeks she put me on Metformin. For the past 3 or 4 weeks I have been noticing changes in my breast. Shooting pains off and on, tingling. It is normally just on the left side but the right one also gets pains and tingles at time, just not as much. Anyway.........my breast seem to " feel" different, like they have ...
