Lounge Media PC Spec
Published (2009-11-14 23:26:00)
Back to cases and power supply's... I'm thinking of an Antec NSK 2480 case. It comes with a 380W PS. I've read it's a decent PS and not a cheap no-frills PS that comes with many cases. Would this PS acomadate a decent GPU (4850/4870/4890|260/275)? This is a link to a page with info on the power supply. 32a on the 12v rail. --> http://www.silentpcreview.com/article591-page5.html I'm guessing your going to point...

Further thought on the PSU - I do have my old dell brick (thought it might have gone to fleabay) and it's rated to 130W, which is great. My power reader only gives total system drain - so it only gives half the story, as the PicoPSU provides 120W across the 3.3V and 5V lines, and passes through the 12V - so technically I have a combined power (max) of about 250W - obviously the 12V will take the lion's share of the load - any way to...

Nice work Duniek on that case. You gonna put some black acrylic behind the gaps or leave it just looking through to the mobo? And 3t3P, that sounds about right. Check post #7, at the front of the case, just in front of the RAM. Thats the PSU tiny things!

itx atom 330 passive?
Published (2009-11-12 01:31:00)
just purchased an itx set-up to use as a server/download box. well any way, i got the asus AT3GC-I, its got a pretty beefy heatsink across both bridges and the cpu but the fan is silly loud, louder than the 200W psu and the 2 hdd's, so can i run this passive? do these have thermal monitors built in so i can check temps to see how to goes under general use?

Thanks for all the input I've decided to go with the Asrock NetTop ION 330 in white. This will be my primary system for one year (minimum) so it'll be interesting to see how it gets on. As you can see from my sig, this is a big switch for me, so it'll be interesting to see how I get on. So I'll post updates. The mini mac, just seemed to expensive for what you actually get. And the ...

I might, if it had an OS. But then again, you can build something more powerful for that price! Even OC'd the performance is something similar to a Celeron operating at half that speed.

Is that the new Acer Aspire Revo Desktop R3610 PC ? at 300 quid looks pretty powerful, considering it myself might make a perfect surfing/media rigg + looks like its fixed the previous flaws with gigabyte ethernet and dual core. Should be more then powerful enough for surfing/hd viewing and the basics.
