Trouble is, people will hunt for the lens second hand or cheaper and OcUK will have problem with their stock of Kit Lens (especially most kit comes with the kit lens already...) A 50mm f1.8 however might stand a better chance if OcUK can secure a low price. But it's great that OcUK is stocking for the DSLR at such a good deal, especially that forum members can get it delivered for free!

Holy massive images, batman! Any chance of having those down to 1000px longest side or something? I'm viewing on a 24" here and I still can't get them in my browser window. Some nice fun photos, though. 3 is a great capture of the moment.

haha!! gawd look at me, mouth open drooling in my grufty waders and hat! Glad you had a good morning, to be totally honest I was suprised with just how difficult it was out there this morning. You have some very nice shots indeed, real survival/nature in the raw stuff... The sort of conditions you think about - but in reality they're a nightmare to work in. I went strictly for wider angle stuff where possible, the amount of people on the...

did some quick mono's to. yeah i had a teak job a few weeks back, we had a lot of it at the bottom of a timber pile that was about 30 years old, took me nearly half a day to drag it out, was covered in dust, dirt, leaves, mould you name it, it was covered in it. planed it up and it was beautiful. nicest teak ive seen. not the best wood to work with tho tough as old boots.

will be going next weekend armed with d700 & d300 with 120-300 and 70-200mm lenses, have sportshields at the ready so hopefully shouldn't be bringing too much of the beach back with me! Will be a good chance to give my gitzo tripod a workout as well as some beanbags i've got for really low shots. I'll be there with the missus, driving up in a green mini cooper s and aiming to be there by 6

My favourite is the pano I wish i could see more on #1. I dont like that it is so centered on the frame, the post processing is spot on though imo. also agree with comments about long exposure on #2

and I've got 2 more on the way..... The first 1 was bought when I was drunk, came home and decided I wanted a monkey, then my flatmate wanted one and then the cat decided to carry one around so we got the small one for her. Now the other 2 are because we came up with the genius theory that 5 is better than 3 When all 5 are here they are getting a photoshoot

I went out with my 450D this evening to take some landscape shots and realised two things. The first being that I need a tripod badly and the second that in all of the images I took there was a small green dot in the same place. I was hoping that some of you could shed some light on what it could be. I have uploaded a 13.6MB RAW file that shows the dot well but only 10 people can ...

Hi My venerable (2002) Panasonic NVMX2B (WARNING - PDF link) is at the end of its useful life. I'm now not sure whether or not it is recording half the time and I struggle to get it to play back. So, what should I replace it with? In its day, it was a £1000+ camera - but most cameras were more expensive than they are now. When I bought it, it had been superseded and I paid ...

I dont agree. This place is nothing compared to what it was 2 years ago. I feel this entire sub forum is more a random pictures archive with few posts by very talented individuals and alot of good work from other hard workers. I see more discussions than picture sharing these days. Can't help but feel the argument ages ago over the comp has crippled things since. Johnny

I was up in what I would guess is one of the most photographed places on earth last week, so thought it would be rude not to have a go myself! The weather was not brilliant most of the time to be frank, but I took my kit out every day anyway, and got a few moments when the cloud and mist lifted and the sun poked through a bit. In some ways, it makes some of the pics more dramatic! These...

Loads of photos still to process, but thought I'd share the panorama's that I've managed so far This first one was taken with my TZ5 and the rest with my 40d, I don't have the bit of paper to hand with all the locations at the moment, but I've put a vauge description on each!
