It's possible if the ISP allow it - you'll usually need to use authentication though.

If every pc bar one is fine, either you have a faulty cable, port/nic or it's software related. It could quite easily be residual damage from malware, poorly written program, bad firewall etc.. Whatever it is you could have drastically reduced the list by spending 1 hour formatting & reinstalling. You can keep trying different things but you've been doing that for 2 weeks, you may have lost less time by just starting from...

I definately considered plusnet as an ISP but if they are not having a speed issue, its pings being affected and vice versa. I'd look elsewhere first. More so at LLU.

It's part of the Sky contract that you have to use their router. There's no legitimate way of getting hold of the username/password for the ADSL.
I'm not sure what they are currently supplying. I'm happy enough with the original revision Netgear they supplied me with a couple of years ago.

Not really. You can block 0-65535 tcp/udp outbound by schedule but that's only outbound and only tcp/udp, not sure how well. You should really look at a more advanced router or anything running tomato, its access restriction is the best you're going to find really.

You're ISP can cut you off right now for virtually any reason they choose, you have no right to be provided internet so the concept of a fair trial is irrelevant. The need to prove wrongdoing is something which file sharers just wish existed.
There are actually more serious concerns with the Bill but it's all irrelevant, it's sufficiently contentious that it'll be opposed and debated, which ...

right, Ive got 50mg they didnt change our cable pretty sure that the previous owner didnt have 50mg so......
the router will be replaced they have to do a firmware flash on it for 50mg takes a few mins like 10
the engineer sorts all of it you should be online before he leaves
also if you download the FUP is much much better than on 20mg

Your noise margin is pretty low considering your line attenuation. Could well be an extension or something plugged into the socket thats causing it.
Have you tried taking the front plate off the master socket, and checking the stats again?

This is easy to do with the right kit, a cheap router isn't the right kit unfortunately. Probably your best bet is a router which supports vlans and then some decent switches which support dynamic vlans (that's Cisco terminology really, other vendors may call it other things.).
This isn't something you can really do on the cheap. Better would probably be a wireless AP like apple's airport ...

It will start rolling out towards the end of this year As far as I know. It will be a completely new tariff, so no free upgrade for 20mb users.

I'd imagine that the ports on both routers are only 10/100Mb ports, and as such even CAT5 is fine for the application.
Your problem is most likely due to routing issues and/or NAT processing. Which router are your wireless clients now connecting to, the old Netgear?
How have you got the Orange Livebox set up? Can it have a DMZ?
