Dell 13z thread - Page 4 -...

PC Advisor reviewed it here and someone on a US forum was selling one in black. It looks old-skool and a bit chunky to be honest and has at least half the battery life from the same battery capacity as the 13z. The GFX and CPU are beefier but going by my experience with the 13z on Win7 x64 I really doubt the beefier cpu will play a noticeable role since the SU7300 in the 13z is very snappy indeed, so much so that I don't find it slow when...

Could try resetting the CMOS by taking the battery out and putting back in. Although they can be tricky to access in laptops. If that doesn't work, then you could try reflashing the bios if you can fins the right ones for the laptop model.

With the amount of bloat acer puts on it would actually be quicker to format and put a fresh copy of W7 on than uninstall the carp. And I am not joking.

Just out of interest whats the reason for wanting to disable it, if its bust, you could probably just whip the keyboard out and unplug it, its about 4 screws.

Yea of course. It's the hardware that will be under guarantee, not the software. That's the first thing I do with laptops, the bundleware is shocking sometimes, so I just reformat and install my own copy of the OS.

£1200 seems like an awfully large amount of money to spend on a Dell. I say this having spent just under £700 about six months ago on a Studio 15. I've been very disappointed with the overall quality of the product and particularly with the level of customer service. Dell deals are like DFS in my opinion. There's always a sale or an offer, and you can always haggle the price down over the ...

most netbooks are in the same ballpark when it comes to features, performance and ergonomy. Then you have to decide between glossy screen (shaper, more reflections) or mate screen (less reflections, less sharp). Some netbooks come with windows 7. The best bets are the Samsungs (NC10 is a bit dated), the Asus Eee PC (some come with extended battery life). Some are Ion platforms, ...
