Great posts in here RB!!! I would like to voice a strong second opinion on his statement regarding the Sub's crossover vs the frequency reposonse of your sats... You will undoubtedly know where that thing is coming from if you have it crossover at such a high frequency. YOu can trim it back to 80Hz or so, but you will have a significant hole in that range depending on how steep the crossover slope on the speakers are.

the foam he used came from inside the headphones, basically acts as a baffle. im not sure how common it is, but on these theres like a lip under the pad against the plastic, like if you hook your finger around the pad... I guess he just stuffed it in there, that's what I did. thinking about it, it seems like anything would work, at least to try it. like some rolled up TP or tissues or somethin.

Heh, I'd call it an antique for sure. 754 is several generations old. It also has a Via chipset which is never a good idea I'd just spring the $200 (or less!) for a modern mobo, processor, and RAM. Tack on $40ish for a replacement video card if that one is AGP, I forgot to check what kind of slot that mobo has but kinda suspect it might be.

I'd recommend an AT, but not the AD700/A700. Go with the M50, they are a bit over budget, but not too badly. $129 on Amazon. If you want bass you'll appreciate going to the M50:

Hey guys. I've already read some of the threads here and AVSForums for gaming headphones, but I'd like to explain my situation. Well, after owning these cans for quite some time, I can say that they're very selective about thier source. For example, I actually prefer my sennheisers on my audigy 2 ZS, not counting the comfort factor, but the sound is crisper and cleaner on the A2ZS. As for my final analysis, I recognize all headphones are different, but in this case I can say I prefer one over the other. I'll keep the ...

The AD700's have two problems in your case, not that much bass (it is there, but its more controlled than earth shattering) and the lack of isolation. You can hear pretty much the same thing next to the phones as with them on your head ! I'd look at the A700, which is a closed version of the AD700. You would need to buy a mic.
