when the system locks up in POST, where specifically does it freeze? And what are you system beeps doing (you need to have a speaker plugged in)? one long beep before the mem test implies you don't have enough power, however with a new PSU, I'd start looking at fans (especially fans that you can slow down) & optical drives. One short beep followed by three beeps usually means there's something with the ram, could be...

Assuming your RAM passes Memtest86+, what are you running as far as video card(s), including the version of driverset? And have you tried running the GPU and CPU tests in OCCT?

BSOD while overclocking Q9550

I just tested with OCCT and I got no errors with my CPU but only ran the GPU test for about 5 mins because it put my GPU temp up to about 92C and this really didn't feel safe running for an hour.

Howdy,
If you look at my sig I have a P5K WiFi, the first one from Newegg was DOA in the box. The second one is working great.
Your power supply is suffecent, how ever it could be the source of your problem (keep that in mind). Your OS is not the problem, if it is Windows you would get random restarts, blue screens, and other errors when it is running. Sounds like a ...

So you already have a cpu and ram for the 775 board?
There are probably more reviews on the Asus board than the XFX. Probably better support. Is the XFX a "used" board?

To the best of my knowledge, the red screen has something to do with a piece of your hardware not passing the check at POST. It could (and in some cases is fairly likely) be a failed overclock. Sometimes when it reverts itself back to stock settings because of that, one of your voltages might have gotten out of whack, which is causing the power issue that is making the board beep....

Have you swapped out the hdd sata cables? I had an issue similar to to what you're going through. Swapping out the sata cables solved it.

Now I am not sure about booting after cmos reset because i just restarted and it appears normal...so that just confirms my agony about every-now and then problem.
It happens more often than a normal boot that is what I can say with sure.
Damn it.
I wish i had some money atm to buy a new motherboard.
I am not sure if it could be something else, like a faulty CPU, or RAM???...

I assume the DRAM frequency is set to 940MHz w/ timings set to 5-5-5-15-2T (all sub-timings on AUTO)? Your voltages look good for a FSB of 470MHz, but one you didn't list is FSB Termination Voltage (VTT), which at that frequency should be about 1.26V. Also set...

Try raising the vcore. Its below stock according to CPUz (b/c of vdrop).
You also dont show what your memory is running at. Make sure, for now, its 5-5-5-15 with AT LEAST 1.8v (if not the 2.1 needed for 1066).
