Nah, no problems. The 125w revision just has a lower TDP, so it runs cooler, is more power efficient, and overclocks better. Read this for more info on that.

QUOTE (ccokeman @ Nov 26 2009, 02:11 PM) You should bump the VTT up a little to run them at 1600Mhz. Also verify the timings and or set them manually in the Cell menu. How do I bump up the VTT and how much should I adjust it up? QUOTE (Hyper @ Nov 26 2009, 02:13 PM) how are you setting the ram at 1600? By increasing the base clock or the ram multiplyer? I went in to the Cell Menu and changed the memory ratio...

QUOTE (Zertz @ Nov 27 2009, 02:10 PM) Only if it has a Deneb (PII) die instead of Propus, right? Because Propus doesn't even have L3... Exact. I assumed here we were talking of a Deneb die. Overall, the chances of getting an Athlon II like mine are very slim.

no overclock is guaranteed, even if you have 10 cpu's that are exactly the same on all the same hardware, the 11th one could be different.

check the BIOS and make sure the CPU is running within spec. The motherboard may need a bios update to correct this, or you can look up the voltage and other specs yourself and apply them in the BIOS. In most cases it's just the motherboard doesn't recognize the cpu and gives it an incorrectly voltage, usually too low. Could you list the parts?

AFAIK (or remember), CPC enable is 1T, disable is 2T I'll see if I can dig any old settings up. You're going to want to search for OCDB or SSDB with 4x1GB. I'm not sure where it's hidden on the forum nowadays. I might be able to find my settings for running 4x1GB, but it was a while ago. I ran it in the expert with a opteron 144 at stock and at 280x9 or 300x9 (somewhere up there...

I have not heard of anything for 1156 socket, 1366 will have a 6 core/12 thread cpu called i9 in the Q1 2010 there saying, but there going to be expensive so I hear. I doubt there will be much of any price cuts on the 920s, you can get them for $200.00 now if you have a microcenter nearby, in store pick up only...
