The HAF 922 - Is it good enough?
Published (2009-12-27 19:44:00)
QUOTE (Kennie @ Dec 27 2009, 09:59 AM) Thank you for the input, guys! So I guess it's a good choice then. I will probably get dust filters for it separately then, although there doesn't seem to be any dust filters for fans larger than 120mm.. According to reviews, though, the front bezel has dust filters, is this incorrect? There is this wire frame net in the front, doesn't look like it filters much...

Soldering Iron Recommendations
Published (2009-12-22 20:38:00)
I was talking about using one of those desoldering braids. People seem to recommend that over the bulbs. Granted this will be the first thing I'm going to solder, but I just remembered I have a dead mobo lying around that I plan on practicing on. Athlon XP mobo. :-)

High RPM 200mm fans
Published (2009-12-23 08:31:00)
the RPM of the fan has nothing to do with how much air it pushes. don't worry about rpm but instead check for "CFM" thats the amount of air it pushes. worry about RPM when sound is more of a consideration versus airflow killaaaa! i suggest get cheap yate loons i got mine for $2.99 ea with a nice high cfm This post has been edited by cirro : Today, 08:32 AM

I just put a build together with the Lian-Li Lancool PC-K7B. It's a really nice midtower case, with plenty of room inside. The build quality is very good, and the wire management is quite easy. 3x120mm fans, intake fan filters, and a motherboard tray round out the package. 19.25" x 8.27" x 18.11" With the stock cooler and OCCT running Linpack, CPU temps were barely over 50C. ...

400w is all you need to run but I would go higher in case you ever change out the graphics card in the future and for safety a good 550/600w will last you a long time I personally have a corsair 750 though

The inside of a case will never get hot enough to melt the paint. If want it to look its best, I would take it all apart, mask well with good tape and use a primer for the bare metal. Of course, you will want to fully wash the parts in hot soapy water beforehand. I think Rustoleum or similar paint would be sufficient and the cost isn't that much. I'd leave the model paint for the ...

Hahaha Steel/Plastic and it cost so much. I don't think it looks that good either. Only thing different from any other case is that the mobo is turned to the side. I personally have seen much better cases. Oh well, I hope u like it and have fun building ur new... well, new build lol.

Well I belive it would make a night and day difference on the dust issue if A: the case is elevated off the floor and B: each individual fan has its own vibration damper and filters to go with them. And once you get into the relm of extream air cooling you kind of get the noise, the excess dust build-up, and also Its all a compromise. Excessive noise with extream airflow. or little ...

Weller and Antec make good quality soldering irons. A power rating of 25~50W would be ideal for general purpose electronic use. The better ones are temperature controlled but they do get expensive. How much money are you looking to spend? If you want to practice soldering then get yourself some stripboard and either just use tinned copper wire links or buy a selection of cheap ...
