Streams Audio fine, but NO Video
Published (2009-12-15 17:07:00)
Uninstalled and Re-Installed K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. Tried streaming LiveTV from the Orb PC (Vista) to itself, both via Flash and Windows Media (.asx). Both of which worked! Also tested the LiveTV Stream to a Win7 RC PC on my Local LAN and it to was a success! Now I am trying to stream to my Samsung Instinct. The settings that are suggested are 3GP-AAC/RTSP. This is not yet working, though if I select 3GP Format under Orb Settings and test on...

Blackberry and ORB
Published (2009-12-14 12:54:00)
dpliebow, Have you been able to find or try any other services that work like ORB for your Blackberry? Besides a Slingbox and possibly VuiVision, I'm coming up dry.

Yes it works the same through the BB, actually once the stream is received by ORB, there is no difference in the way BB accesses the stream. I use a BB 8330 from Sprint with NO wifi and it works perfectly. The only glitch is if I receive a phone call while listening to a stream, it loops the stream and I have to refresh it to get it back in sync. Was a problem from before, refresh works so I'm not complaining.

Songs get cut off when streaming...

I'm using the OrbLive Iphone app... same problem... all songs cut off about two minutes before the end of the song. This problem has been discussed on these forums since 2006... that's pretty freaking lame if you ask me... they must have figured out the problem by now... but there isn't a single FAQ or Troubleshooting article regarding this dealbreaker of a problem. I hate when companies rush out new features, when they...

This was a problem even before windows 7. I just lost interest, and gave up. I think its more then just a windows 7 problem. I had the same problems when this machine was vista. I will go back to vista, if I can get this to work. I still have the old vista hard drive to boot with.

If you cannot then the problem is with your mobile company. WOW That works for me on my BB 8330 FULLSCREEN!!! WHY won't my ORB?

Multi NAT network issue
Published (2009-12-15 07:49:00)
I agree that that would solve the problem, but however, that is not the solution I am looking for as I do not want my server and my home network to be in the same network space. I would like Orb to function like it does over the internet and allow the server to see the Orb server running on the home network. If somehow Orb could detect the IP of the local machine the media is being requested from and check that IP against what the Orb server...

As you say that this issue occurs even when streaming a video file, I suspect this can also be a codec issue. Please let me know what codecs you have installed in the PC. You can also try the K-lite Codec, restart Orb/Orb PC and see for any positive changes. Note that Orb is not fully supported in Win7.

This issue has nothing to do with Orb. It seems to be your environmental specific. I see that you have done a cascading between your two routers by keeping the DHCP enabled on both the routers. Now both the routers will assign ips from their respective DHCP to all the clients (PC's & consoles) connected to each one of them. As they both are in different networks, they will not conflict in Ip's ...

It seems you have too much of media files (1TB) and it is not indexed properly. Try a clean install and it will work. If not then there may be some problem with the files you have.

Thanks for the detailed information. I suspect that your DirecTV STB remote is most likely not compatible with Orb. Since your STB's remote is working in XP MCE, there is a possibility ( we do not know for sure until it is tested ) for your remote to work with Orb, if you upgrade to Vista Home Premium or Vista Ultimate as Orb uses the IR configuration data from the Vista Media Center.

TV worked perfectly on my VZW - Blackberry Tour up until about December 3rd when my ORB client did an automatic upgrade. Now I only get audio. I have not changed anything, and I have even gone so far as to Ghost back to about 8 days ago, but as soon as I fired up the PC ORB automatically upgraded itself. I pulled the plug on the ethernet connection, but it was not in time. I have spent hours ...

You may be aware that Orb is not fully-supported in Windows 7. So, I would request you to wait for an upcoming Orb update which will address all issues related to Win7. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA at this time. We appreciate your patience.

You may be aware that non- MPEG2 tuners are still not fully supported yet, quite a few software-based tuners work in Orb. I would suggest you to wait for 2.5x series of Orb. It may work with your tuner, but we do not know for sure until it is tested.
