There's no way to know if fans have an outcome unless the games would actually be played without any fans. This is all speculation and just one's opinion. If I had to give an opinion, I'd say the team playing the game mostly decides who wins. Occasionally fans can rattle opposing players and teams, but in a sport where games are played in both teams home city, the effect is the same on both teams. In a game, such as the Super...

Last time I checked every one of Lance's Tour de FRANCE was completed quite a ways outside of the US borders. would it be more impressive if he was from Poland? C'mon, don't penalize the guy because he was born in Texas.

Here is one!!!! Arnold Palmer & Tiger Woods Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods are playing the 16th hole, when Tiger's tee shot lands behind a huge, 100 foot fir tree. Tiger looks at Arnie and says, "How would you play this one? Lay up and take the extra stroke?" Arnold replies: "When I was your age, I'd just play right over this tree." Tiger, not wanting to be shown up by ol' Arnold Palmer, proceeds to...

How much depends on the fans, and how much depends on the actual team playing the game? Is it different for different sports?

If it was golf, I'd say Tiger's one legged playoff victory against Rocko. I don't think people get how much your knees are involved while playing golf, and the fact that he played 19 holes extra on a knee that was done for the year and required surgery. If it was racing you're in a battle between Michael Schumacher and Johnson. Both had an outstanding decade. I'm not a Pittsburgh fan, but both Superbowls they were in...

Toe Blake was a legendary Canadiens player and later coach. He won the Stanley Cup three times with the Canadiens as a player and would be remembered as one of the greatest players to play for the team if he had not gone out to overshadow himself with an unbelievable coaching career. As a coach, he won the Stanley Cup with Montreal 8 times, including 5...

Only if there was a penalty on the defensive side of the ball. Once the kick is off, the offense cannot retry the kick. If the kick is never off and it is 3rd down, then the offense can retry the kick on 4th down (For example the snap to the holder is muffed and the kicker never kicks the ball). http://www.footballscrimmage.com/nfl/field-goal... .

This happens in sports all the time and generally referred to as a "hometown discount" meaning a Free Agent will take less money to play for the team he currently plays rather then moving to another city. Martin Brodeur , who is arguably the best goaltender of all time is infamous for taking less money so that his team can afford more offensive stars, ...

I believe the fans do make a difference in the game. Regardless of sport. I would say that the fans make up 20% of the out come due to the fact they are a great motivator to the players. Fans rally when teams rally, fans rally when teams are behind. I think that any time you have a large crowd rallying behind you your motivation peaks or so to say an...

Not so much a joke, but I genuinely laughed when I read someone on Twitter suggest that "Tiger Woods just needs a driver." Wordplay wins the thread pretty much any time. Of course, now it seems that Tiger's troubles stem from letting somebody else play a round with his putter....

To me the greatest sports moment of the decade was in October 2004 when the Boston Red Sox won the World Series. (I am admittedly biased and lifelong Red Sox fan) After 86 years of losing and specifically the '86 Series with the Mets and the Bill Buckner ball between his legs incident losing us game 6 forcing 7 and in the end losing to the New ...
