However, this question is not about mothers. It is about all, ordinary people. So bringing up the question of pregnant women as if it was an error in the answer is ridiculous. With regard to the average person, moderate drinking of alcohol has been shown to be clearly beneficial and this answer is quite right.

Apparently not. It seems to be a myth perpetuated by parents and teachers who don't like the sound. Saying that, you do have to wonder if it does do some damage, and there are many ways to crack them - a pull, a twist, splaying them etc. One way may hurt you more than others.....
