Do any of you here think that this Oracle related article has any truth to it: http://kevinclosson.wordpress.com/2006/12/10/no-more-oracle-ports-to-solarisaixhp-ux-after-oracle11g/ or do you think it's just more anti-Solaris F.U.D. ? To me this article doesn't make any sense at all: the Application Binary Interface and D.D.I. for Linux changes all the time because Linus doesn't care about backward compatibility, so if you...

Ah, yup, it is. :( Doesn't seem to work with lzjb either. Would be nice if the error message said more than "this type of pool", with there being so many properties it isn't readily apparent what the cause is.

I've used VBox 3.X (including 3.1.2) with OpenBSD, various Linux flavours, and OpenSolaris on OS X 10.5.8 over the course of several months. Perhaps you've not received any responses because it's not really clear what problems you're experiencing with which you require help. What you're asking sounds an awful lot like what's already covered here: http://www....

According to http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.d o?bug_id=6770908 It uses the mpt_sas driver that is available starting in 118. 2009.6 has 111 by default so you'd need to upgrade. If you go the Solaris 10 route, you'd need 10/09 (U8).

They should probably just skip snv_130 and go straight to snv_131 if the Solaris Express version is going to be anywhere near as buggy as the bleeding edge Indiana version was. If they skipped snv_130 it might save you the wasted time and effort of using live upgrade to...

Oh come on. From which systems those really bad ideas are? You were using really old version of OpenSolaris snv_79 so someone said to you that you must try latest version. You say that you use 2009.06 so I suppose that you have really 2009.06 which is from June and not something really actual. Download latest build of OpenSolaris from www.genunix.org (as you have this ...

Only 2 packages for the image-update? I'm guessing that you were already running osol-129, and that a couple of newer packages (?) led image-update to believe there were updates to be made. Did you happen to see which packages it tried updating? What did you think you were going to update to if build 129 is on your system? -- Alan On 12/22/09 05:56 PM, Garen Parham wrote...

Hi Brian, I tried as you said, I placed the actual file 'dummy' in /usr/kernel/dummy and the conf file 'dummy.conf' also in the same folder. But then also its not working. It asks me to place the driver file (dummy) in correct directory. and to reboot.
