Thanks but I did use the name I log on with. In fact, I also looked in all the other releted folders just in case and did a search for "OpenOffice.org" and not one result came up in any Application Data folder. I also logged into the other accounts with the same result. When I double click on the OOo program, there is some activity in Task Manager, about 12% processor usage for a second. On one occasion, soffice.exe appeared...

The path is C:\Documents and Settings\ username \Application Data\OpenOffice.org. The key being USERNAME . You're probably looking under the wrong user. Use whatever username you log on with.

Hi John, Thanks for the reply. I can't see anything strange in the preferences. New files save by default to "Documents". I think it may have something to do with the fact that I had to save as .doc, due to another bug (the one where you can't save something that's been open for a long time - I'm not organized enough to get around to finishing things immediately, so just leave them open and close the...

We have the BES v4.1.6 and we're using OpenOffice.org 3.0 at our company. When sending emails with attachments of MS Office documents, edited or created using OpenOffice, the file cannot be converted by the BES distiller. It tells me the file format is unsupported. Is there a way to upgrade the distillers without having to purchase an upgrade to the whole system?

Most likely not caused by OO. If you're saying you're monitor literally clicks off and on you've probably got a failing video card. If the video is on the motherboard as opposed to a separate card you can get a video card for your machine. Best to get another nvidia so you won't have to completely change driver provider. A local computer shop will probably have cheaper prices than a ...

Probably, the delay logging in is caused by the program automatically loading the OpenOffice.org Quickstarter as you log in. To disable the Quickstarter: Start the OpenOffice.org application. WinXP shows OOo 3.1.1 icon in the WinXP Taskbar...when I want to open a blank "new" file...of whatever OOo application...I click the OOo icon in the Taskbar. All that happens is that the most recently used ALREADY OPEN document (might be .odt file, might be Calc file, etc.) in OOo 3.1.1 pops up. E.g., in the older 3.0 version, a QuickLaunch icon fo OOo always allowed selection of ...

Hi folks, Perhaps I'm just being thick, but I seem to have run across a very strange problem. I have OpenOffice installed on a Mac, and have a bunch of files saved in my home directory. If I open one of them, work on it, and then save it, it gets saved in the trash folder. Is that normal?! George
