I deleted a file by mistake. I went to TRASH and retrevied it. But when i try to bring it up all I get is a line of code or something. As you can tell by my question, I am totally at a loss. This file is the family history of a family dating back to the 1400's and I don't have the paper file any longer so I'm really in trouble. pachingerjo

OpenOffice for dual-core?
Published (2009-11-04 02:54:00)
I think, dealing with multi-core/multi-processor environment is a feature of operating system, not of an application program.

Provid WordPerfect Style Labels
Published (2009-11-05 12:36:00)
In Word and I assume Open Office, labels are handled as tables. In Word Perfect, labels are handled as pages. Using pages is much easier because deleting and entering single labels is simply entering or deleting a page. In tables you have column and row issues. I suggest that Open Office provide the user with the option of using table or page based labels with a default setting provided. This would attract more WordPerfect users to Open Office.

Provid WordPerfect Style Labels

Robert, This is a user forum so no design suggestions can be handled here. Try OpenOffice.org. If you are talking about labels like those you might stick on an envelope then OOo handles them as a page filled with frames. Each frame contains a label. Try File > New > Labels to see for yourself.

OpenOffice for dual-core?

Hi Sevalav, This is Laracroft, Why are you looking for Open Office who supports dual-core processors? As per my knowledge this is work of your Operating System. Today almost all Operating Systems are multi threaded.

Follow instructions, extract the package( p8n) after downloading and add it to your /usr/sare/fonts directory. after that change its mode. Code: sudo chmod -R 755 /usr/share/fonts/p8n I did for my ubuntu machine and many others did the same job. The fonts rendering problem is totally solved with. WAHAJ

How to Convert Mod/Tod to...
Published (2009-11-03 18:22:00)
Mod is the video file format used on many digital camcorders, such as the JVC Everio, the Canon FS100 and the Panasonic D-Snap SD-card camcorders. Have you ever been caught in such situation: You recorded wonderful moment or happy pictures during holiday and wanted to share them with others? But you suffered from playing the video on your computer or other devices because most players and portable devices cannot accept the format (Mod/Tod)....

I usually just download a font to my Home directory, extract it if necessary, and then just copy it to (a folder in) /usr/share/fonts (using something like Krusader if not the command line). I'd be very wary about downloading to and extracting in a system folder.
