can anxiety affect your reading??
Published (2008-11-18 21:50:00)
More then likely it is just eyestrain. I have had that happen to me on occassion and of course when you get anxious it tends to get worse. Also if you have not had your eyes checked lately you might want to go in and just have a regular eye exam as this might put you a bit more at ease:)

Medication Anxiety??
Published (2008-11-21 03:31:00)
I am terrified of medication as well . The only thing I take now is clonazepam ,but during my many trips to the hospital emergency room they have given me ativan so let me assure you that you will be fine. If they are starting you off on a very low dosage then all you will feel from this is a pleasant ,soothing and calming sensation. I have also tried the breathing exercises and meditations for quite a while and they did nothing for me as...

A part of us hate ourselves. Not just ourselves but the way we are. I wish I could change everyone to what they want to be but only you can do that.

Confusion
Published (2008-11-20 19:46:00)
Usually when in the presence of others. Especially in a work environment. I can be given a simple instruction and my mind just goes blank. For some reason, when with others, my brain fails to compute even the most basic directions given to me. I sometimes go through it at home too. Moments of confusion when I'm not even sure WHAT it is I'm supposed to be confused about.

I have been taking 2 different meds for a few years now. But my Dr. wants to change my xanax to klonipin, because she says xanax is addicting. I have not had any visits to the hospital until she started changing my meds. Why would she do this? The side effects are not to good. I had energy with the meds I was on. Now I feel like crap. I just want to go back to what I was taking. But she says ...

Well, some of you may remember me from last year, but I've been waiting for the past month to actually come back and post because I've been in denial. But now I know that I have to accept what has happened. I have had some sort of relapse. I need to know how these things happen. My anxiety seems strange...they come in episodes. And there also seems to be a pattern. 6 months on, 10 months off. ...

I get this wierd feeling on the left side of my body like kinda heavy (like when you've been sitting in a funny position) and your arm or leg falls asleep. It comes and goes and when I have it I'm aware of it constantly and can't help freaking out abou it......I don't freak out about it as much as when I'm in panic mode but when I feel "okay" and then it hits I convince myself it can't possibly ...

Good morning, everyone. It's a chilly Saturday morning here in southwest Ohio and I have a full day's worth of things planned here around the house. Later, I'll kick back and watch the Ohio State vs. Michigan football game and rewatch " I Am Legend." I can't help but think that this is such a great day to be alive and to have the freedom and means to enjoy life as well as work. What are ...

I left my boyfriend tonight. I was going to leave him but didn't know exactly when and was planning on doing it soon but not tonight. Things got back and I went to my dads house and he came there and forced his way in so my dad kicked him out and we had to call the cops. I went home with them and got some stuff and my cat and now I'm back at my dads. I'm scared of him and I don't know where...

Well, first off, i'm hoping that you see a therapist or at least attend anxiety/depression support groups ? Is your job very difficult in that you can't function in it?

Here's a thought for you, my friends here on DS: Instead of fighting and resisting anxiety and depression, add what you imagine are their opposites. when we add enough of the opposites, then the anxiety and depression naturally will fade to the distant background and lose power.

Last night I had a major panic attack. It's been a long time since I had one this bad, and I almost ruined my relationship because of it. It was triggered by so many things and my brain couldn't focus on one thing. What is a good way to avoid a panic attack? Or, once you find yourself getting anxious, how do you calm down? (besides just swallowing it) Note - I get anxious ...
