Close ratio steering gear for...

As the title says, I'm looking for a new or reman close ratio steering gear for a '68 Cutlass convertible. I've tried several places, with no luck. I tried the search on here, and out of 438 results, 3 were about steering, none about a steering gear. The gear I have now is 6 full turns stop to stop, and I'd like to cut that by half. Thanks in advance, Jim

That's sort of what I thought. I'll probably go with the 350. I may even go all out for the 455. We'll see. Thanks.

no start

I have a 71 cutlass that slowly died and now wont start. I have changed coil, plugs, resistor, dist cap, points, and dist wire to coil. There is fuel to carb, but still wont start. Cranks over ok. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I dont think there would be a problem with the driveshaft. As far as the 260 is concerned I think there is little you can do to it. There is very little as far as aftermaket parts to make it a performer.

Looks good, How far you live form Tennessee? I moght have a set of rims I can donate to your project if it aint too far out. I have two sets of Olds Ralley with all the chrome inserts and 1 set of 14 inch Cragers

Fan clutch? Try the heavy duty truck clutch. Is the engine rebuilt or stock? and have you swapped out thermostats. Even new ones can be bad from the start.

hey all , new to your site .. looking forward to hearing from you , hope to get some help on my 79 cutlass and i hope to be able to offer some advice to some of you guys as well ..... so heres the deal , i bought this 79 cutlass off craigs list the guy told me it goes down the road 100% .. yea maby on the back of a flatbed ..anyways story for another time .... problem im having now is water ...

scored some rallys too , want to get some white letter sneekers at some point soon i hope ... was thinking along the lines of bf goodrich radial t/a s ... ive seen pics of them on rally wheels but the white letters look a little small , kinda wanted somthing with a little bigger lettering any ideas ??? cource have to think bout cost too .. but first things first gotta rebuild the front end ...

well found a set on ebay , so if anybody needs a set for a 79 let me know , dont have alot of room for extra parts so will let them go cheap to some one who needs them ... im i the only one on here ????? anybody else got g-bodys ????? anyways have a good one all , will be posting some more pics before ole man winter sets in
