Claret is a deep dark red. I don't know if "ruby" is the correct term, but that's what it looks like to me. It's not a regular bright red. I've seen the Fusicks version at car shows and it's very close IMO.

I'm pretty sure interior trim does not have a color #. It wasn't done that way. You need to find out the name of the color and then see who makes the dye (if anyone)

Nice work! I also was not aware/never noticed the difference between the Hurst Olds steering wheel wrap and the 442s of this era. Ya learn something new everyday.

well my 81s is still the 3 split bars (which is how I recall the 79/80) to look. You'll probably have wait till I am home for pix though - doubt I got them on the work PC or photobucket

Maybe if the shafts get a little rust on them, when you drive the car the rust might damage the seals and cause them to leak. Give them a heavy coat of WD-40 every now and then, that would help.
