This was a bug in either Compiz (Desktop Effects) or
xscreensaver when mixed with SDL games such as BZFlag. So you have two options. Either disable Desktop Effects (under the Appearance control panel) or disable the screensaver. You could also try upgrading to 9.10 to see if that fixes the problem.

Anything but Virgin. We were with them for a while, and it really, really sucked. Poor internet, poor customer service, traffic
throttling. Try Be Unlimited, or Demon. I've had good experiences with both those providers. Be Unlimited will give you ADSL2+ cheaper than most other ISPs, (if you're in a compatible area) too. https://www.bethere.co.uk http://www.demon.net/

Might be your isp whining about non-
web traffic. Do torrents work? I'm on BT and torrents/bz/web have been fine today. Otherwise just wait, theres no real reason it should last more than a few hours (shaping is worst-case, till 1am or so).

It hardly means anything. Lag affects it a lot, making the ratio of reported to computed hits meaningless.

I don't think that option works properly in 2.0.x. I believe I had fixed that in development code (
2.99.x). You could try it in a location without any spaces in the path to see if that works, but don't get your hopes up.
