http://www.autobloggreen.com/2008/0...ell-fails-in-t/ Last week we ignited some healthy discussion in the comments with my post on the (de)merits of on-board hydrogen generators and injectors. While few could argue with my basic thermodynamic analysis of the process, defenders repeated the claim from producers of these systems that something magical happens when you add hydrogen to the air fuel mixture of an engine. We've looked into...

I ran into a guy today using a kit on his Dodge dually with a Cummings diesel. He claims to have seen a 30%+ increase in fuel mileage + much reduced emissions. Apparantly you can hardly smell the diesel at the tail pipe plus the tail pipe itself is squeaky clean, not the usual black sooty mess you'd expect. He went on to say the oil stays dramatically cleaner / longer. As most diesel owners are...

Is there a source out there that rents the proper spring compressor for installing mustang front springs? (84/85 stock springs). Everything is brand new and painted and I don't want to mess/scratch things by using prybars and hammers....suggestions?

I just got great advice about diff oil. Thanks, GTAMC! Now can I pick your brains about transmission oil? Ford recommends Mercon ATF for the T5. But I'm not using a T5. I'm in the middle of installing a TKO 600 that will see severe duty on the track. What do you guys recommend?

Hi All, I've found a great condition 98' GT and will be picking it up on Saturday. That said, the owner has various parts that he has offered to me, should I want them. The only part that I wanted to seek clarification on was 2-piston calipers. He said that in the model after the 98', the front brakes were upgraded to 2-piston calipers and that these would not only offer greater ...

Anybody have any suggestions to eliminate trailer hitching in my 89 5.0 5speed? It idles fine, but it accelerates poorly. It bucks violently and forces me to floor the gas pedal, then push in the clutch just to maintain speed smoothly. I know a dirty MAF can contribute to this (mine is new), as can a TPS with flat spots (I have yet to check the TPS, but base voltage is .91V). Any other ...

hey guys, just gotta quick question regarding engine swaps. 05-up mustang V6 converting to a carbed windsor pushrod. Do people tell insurance about this? If so do the insurnce companys label the car different or do they consider it a hotrod? Also, if you ever got into an accident what kind of issues would come up? Would they rebuild back to stock or modded?? Is it worth the hassel or just ...

I just lost my car keys and Im stuck with no car till Monday. Does anyone know the procedure for going to the dealer and cutting a new key or re programming the car. Do you know if I can just give them the VIN number and have them cut a key? How much does it cost?

What's the normal clearance between the pick-up and the bottom of the pan? I'm installing an 8-quart baffled pan with windage tray in my open track car. It came with a pick-up tube. Clearance right now is 1/2 inch. That seems a bit high to me. Anyone know?

Well I have just finished my first AOD transmission rebuild, it was a very enjoyable project for me though there were a few curse words thrown around during the process (Tip: don't forget to put the trans filler/dip tube in before the exhaust). I didn''t do any real mods just a basic rebuild no hardware included the seals due to the tranny only having 18000 kms. The reason for the rebuild ...

I'm looking for a good rear suspension setup to road race and have as a daily driver for my 90 GT. I've read many of the posts about this subject but I would like to know best bang for your buck products that can make a real difference on the handling. RE: Torque Arm, Control Arms, Shocks. I have the Eibach Pro Kit springs already but wondering if they are strong enough to road race.

Car I bought came with a torque arm setup aftermarket lower control arms and coil overs for the rear suspension. Whats everyones option on these? I haven't driven the car much yet, but whats better for street use- the torque arm or a good set of uppers. I'm considering removing the torque arm and putting upper back in over the winter.
