I don't see class names in your data. Without those a legend will be blank regardless of layer status. Yes, legends do support TTF... Steve, http://imaptools.com:8080/work/testMapfile2.php This is NOT PHP/Mapscript, I'm using the php to parse the a php object and turn it into the mapfile, the write the mapfile to a temporary file and generate the image. The LegendIcons work under the map, you can see the gray mark in the lower left of the map which should be the legend. Do legends work with truetype fonts? the map image is just a cgi request.
