Fish Oil made it worse...
Published (2009-12-22 08:35:00)
"A while after I took it I felt more anxious and more ocd symptoms... Does this wear off if I keep taking it everyday? " There are two types of oils associated with fish. One is fish oil, and the other is Cod-liver oil. Which one did you take ? In which form (capsules or liquid) ? How much did you take (mgs) ?

Hi all, I haven't been here in a long time. I was off the internet for about 6 months. Anyway, I had the same reaction from fish oil. It increased my anxiety. After I stopped the supps, the symptoms lessened. Grammy

I dont think alternative and natural treatments have any direct influence to mental health, however, if they improve your general health, it will have a bearing on your mental health. Fish oil is good, but if it makes you feel off colour, it will effect your anxiety. Many people are effected by anxiety when making any minor expeditions outside the comfort zone. trying anything new will trigger anxiety and its more oftem than not our reaction...

I take fish oil too and I find that it helps me to take things (pills or food) that contain EFA's. They are supposed to help with depression but I'm not sure about anxiety.

Hello leegun. I am happy to hear of your success with St. John's Wort. I myself have healed on an elaborate protocol, and though I did find some herbs that helped relieve the anxiety, none worked at about 90%. So you are doing good, but you have some side effects with bloating and constipation. I am writing some suggestions below. 1. First, I must tell you that I ran into this problem when I ...

Hey MissCloudy, tried hypnotherapy for OCD and while it certain helped to relax me and alleviate some of the anxiety temporarily it did not by any means help longterm I'm afraid. Also I do practice yoga and I find it very useful as a mindfulness tool and again helps alleviate the anxiety. I personally would recommend yoga over hypnotherapy as it is cheaper and something you can practise yourself ...

You are the third person who has inspired me to look at my diet. I spent a few THOUSAND dollars at this place called the Ultrawellness Center. One thing I learned is that I'm allergic to dairy. Their big thing was the diet change to fix my "broken" brain. 6 weeks of sugar free, gluten and dairy free. My dumba** just can't seem to mustar up the willpower to stick to it. I feel like my life ...

hi, i just thought i'd write about my experience with natural medicine so far, in particular i have a theory at the end of this that i'm really curious about and am interested in others opinions. i've been seeking help to get over pure-o ocd with themes that are all over the place and change all the time. about 1 1/2 months ago i started seeing a naturopath. she gave me the following to take...
