Strange indeed with the prompts. I personally feel that Vista has come a long way now to be even labelled "crap" , actually it is very good with the latest updates. You can try using the XP driver set of the A135 and see if it is compatible to your model. Keep in mind that many special utilities might not run correctly - or at all - outside Vista. On the same note, would you give us a personal review of your notebook?...

Thanks. I found the instructions in the User Guide. My current Toshiba is 4 years old and came with EVERYTHING! So this idea of no recovery disks threw me off a bit.

Hi, thanks for the post. The only thing I dont know for sure is what the Bios will support, they may not have made this model when later cpus came out, so there may not be instructions for it. They are expensive to buy to try at this point, plus the dissassembling time to install. Regards

Problem with T6400 processor

Hi, recently I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A305-S6905 with Windows Vista. But yesterday I "upgraded" to Windows XP. My processor was 2.0 GHz but now it is 1.2GHz, the multiplier went from 10 to 6 and i can't change it from the BIOS. the battery is in performance mode and I loaded the processor to 100% but it did't go up, it stayed 1.2GHZ. Please help me I want to have a 2.0GHZ processor.

I will have to seach for it I just move all my funiture to North Carolina.I dont sure were to find the memo if I find it I mwill contact you Then get your address and mail ity to you.They are lying once you have the memo and read it they will have to honor it.Once you get the memo just call Toshiba read the memo to them.

Decided to to a clean re-install of Vista, put in a new hd and ran the recovery -it finished, but instead of asking me to choose a user name and password it gave two options, one for administrator, which it said was disabled, and another to input a pre-existing user name and password, which of course I did not have, since it is a new install. What gives? Does Toshiba want me to only run this on ...

Hi People, I have a Toshy M9 (Vista Pro OS) that is under a year old and is having a funny problem. The number 8 button on the keyboard doesn't work when I press it. It works by itself and keeps on pumping out (88888888 etc) when I have any program open that is capable of text input. Even the Windows login gets the 88888 problem. Can anyone help! Does anyone know what Intel CPU is the highest upgrade that an A205-S5814 satelite will except? I have a T2330 Core Duo 1.6 533 1mg cache cpu now. I have the latest bios flash. Will a T2450 2.0ghz or T2390 1.86ghz cpu possibly work? I know I will need to keep the 533 bus spec, but speed and cache is the key. Thanks

I was at my local Best Buy and saw a Toshiba Notebook 505L-S6946. I was told by a salesperson that the newer Toshiba notebooks no longer come with Recovery Disk? If so, upon initial setup will it prompt you to make a Recovery Disks. Is there anything in the paperwork that comes with the computer that will tell you how to make a Recovery Disk?

I don't know who or what I pi**ed off out there in the universe but I just dropped a decent amount of money getting new RAM, a new CPU, and a new keyboard for my laptop...and then this weekend I spilled water on it. It just died, it was on, now it's not... I disconnected it from everything, and tipped it up against the wall with my fan blowing on it. I'm going to open it up later to see...

Hi, I have a Toshiba Portege 7010ct 300mhz, 32Mb Ram and 6.4gb hdd. When I turn the laptop on the "In touch with tomorrow" screen come up and the laptop goes no further and the hdd light blinks twice? Does anyone has a sloution for this? I also have dock for it and when it is connected the laptop recognizes it and freezes at the in touch with tomorrow.
