Does that mean WIFI will not work? presently all I need to do is turn on the switch knob on the laptop and wifi comes on nicely. One final thing. What of things like the on screen OSD for when you use the volume button will all those work like original? And finally does the sony utility and all those cool software also work in your X64 guide? Thanks.

Sony Windows 7 Upgrade Disc
Published (2009-11-20 07:31:00)
I have just received my upgrade discs for both my new Z620D laptops, followed the rather vague instuctions to the letter, clicked Upgrade. All went well until it asked for the licence key. Does the W7 upgrade licence key come with the discs or in an email? The original vista key does not work. Thanks

Windows 7 is slow

I'll second the boot defrag - trimmed 15-20 seconds off my boot time. But do as his instructions say, start it and leave it alone till done. Then found MyDefrag (free application) and running that made windows 7 nicely responsive.

High temps can damage your laptop's hardware in the long run. However, if your GPU does overheat, your GPU will first, downclock itself to prevent further overheating, and if that fails, it would shut itself down to prevent any permanent hardware failure.
I would recommend you to monitor your temps while gaming. If your GPU doesn't reach 85C during load, I wouldn't worry too much. If it does,...

Try changing the resolution to the native resolution of your HDTV AFTER connecting with the HDMI cable. If your HDTV is 1080P, then you should be able to output 1920×1080 (1080P) from your laptop.
On a side note, 1366x768 is still considered "full HD" as this resolution is greater than 720P (1280×720).

Take a look at THIS thread.
The FW is able to output higher resolutions using HDMI (and also VGA for that matter). 1080p wouldn't be a problem.

Rajesh I tried using windows vista drivers but they give a number of errors even disabled UAC etc
Your guide is for 64 bit do you have one for 32 bit? i downloaded and tried the vaio event service and it did not work.
Perhaps I should just install the 64 bit version of windows 7?
