Vaio TT11WN driver issues on...
Published (2009-11-05 06:00:00)
Hi folks, I guess I have similar issues re drivers on win7 Home Premium 64bit. I recently did a clean install of the W7x64 (full retail) on my tt11wn/b (Core 2 Duo 1.2ghz, 4gb ram). Everything seems to be working fine, except for some driver problems: - Light sensor doesn't work, even though it has been enabled in the vaio control center. - Base System Device issue in the 'Device Manager', unrecognised device perhaps a card...

Thanks to coolguy . It works after installing all the things from your instruction on FZ11MR, Windows 7 X32. The only exception is that I installed at very first SonyUtils DLL . I'm not shure about the last thing, but when I'd installed that and all the rest in order you proposed, Fn+F5/F6 and also the button S started to work properly. Regards, Kris

Request about Windows 7 Upgrade
Published (2009-11-07 08:32:00)
Hello I have VAIO FW490 with free upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The Windows 7 upgrade DVD has been delivered, but unfortunately I'm currently outside USA, so can anybody create an ISO for the DVD and upload it for me to RapidShare, any place else or by FTP (my FTP account info may be provided for that purpose)? I'll be appreciated.

Apologies if this has been discussed already, BUT does the 3 year warranty extension for the nvidia chip now mean that the GPU is covered for four years from purchase date ?

Hi everyone I'm planning to buy Vaio Z soon. But I really wonder if this is possible: Vaio Z originally windows 7 then use the supplied downgrade XP disc to downgrade to windows XP, and then upgrade back to windows 7 Thanks guys.

may I ask why you would like to do that? Anyway windows 7 does not support upgrading from windows xp. You need to make a clean install. So no, it won't be possible.

My SZ650N was working OK but since 2 months or so started to show green stripes, Vista froze and i have to manually turn it off, getting really hot when using the Nvidia mode... I believe my Vaio is out of warranty (bought second hand in Ebay one year ago) and I live abroad, in a country where sony has no tech support available. I've heard about hardcore technicians doing some kind of Video processor fix, kind like the one people performs...

From my guide... In battery saver modes, the screen will flicker as the Intel Power management crashes the driver. Go into Control Panel and open the Intel® GMA Driver for Mobile applet Go to Display Setting on the left side/ On the lower right corner, click”Power Settings” At the bottom select “Modify Settings” Near the bottom, uncheck EVERYTHING. Press Ok Press Ok Press ...

Can anyone repost the drivers? Also, will all the hard buttons / FN buttons work with this method? I'm currently running a pirated copy for RTM Ultimate, but I have my Professional Retail disk right here waiting to be installed... I don't want to do it if it will make the laptop work worse than the pirated copy, though!
