Looks like the 2.6.32 was released on the 3rd of December and they were aiming at a 4-6week shedual for versions last i heard so it shouldn't be long. Its not that hard to roll your own kernel if you want to try it as an rc in the mean time, im sure there are plenty of guides on the ubuntu forums.

what resolution are is it giving you? That's a netbook res, go under 'display' in adminstration or preferences menu and set it there...I'm in Xubuntu now and can't remember. Some remixes are designed for netbooks like Ubuntu Netbook Remix.

Err yeah I had a brief concern like that but you can just select what part of the harddrive to install ubuntu on. I think it is the second choice when choosing the partition option, you basically show how much of your hdd you want to give linux manually. You CAN take free space from your windows install (If it's the same as with vista). It should show you the maximum space it can take from ...

The reason SElinux pops up on fedora and not ubuntu is that ubuntu does not run SElinux. Now as for the wine install pop up it is probably ok, to be honest when I ran fedora 11 for a couple weeks I found SElinux annoying and disabled it.
