Well color me surprised! A dell supervisor called me and apologized that I was affected by the "issue with underpowered AC adapters" and took my information down. They are shipping me a 130watt PA-4E Slim adapter first thing in the morning with overnight shipping and expidited processing at no charge. I do need to return my old 90watt, which doesn't bother me at all since it doesn't do me any good. I'm very happy,...

With mine running prime95 and furmark at the same time with a half charged battery the ac adapter was pulling a steady 93W according to my meter and the adapter got up to 78C at the hottest point according to my laser thermometer which is usually pretty accurate with the rest of the adapter being over 63C at it's coolest point. The adapter is definitely on it's limit. One thing I'd like to query is if running realtemp and...

My Studio XPS 16 was delivered to me at 12:05 Eastern Time. I am in the process of doing a clean install of Windows 7 RC as my laptop was installed with Vista. I will have to wait for the Windows 7 Upgrade when I can register the service tag for the free upgrade.

Is it detected in the BIOS but not by the OS or is it not even detected in the BIOS? If the latter, I suspect an incompatibility with the model that you bought. You may want to check for updated 1730 BIOS and/or solid state drive firmwares.
