Ok, set it to 275/383/550 as you instructed earlier. Is this the default setting to use while not gaming? Is there a separate profile great for gaming?

Yeah, I have an inspiron 1545 with intel GMA 4500MHD graphics, and I can second that. It's got a 2.1GHz processor too, so it should outperform the UL30a , and the graphic performance is terrible. Really, really bad. I'm like the OP, I want to game occasionally in my downtime, but the performance of this machine restricts the titles that I actually want to play greatly. If even light gaming is a requirement, I can't stress the...

I have 186.81....so that doesn't cause these problems with the stuttering? I'd rather not go into my registry and start messing around. Definitely not something I'm comfortable with. lol

Honestly, even when I had a gaming-quality desktop, 99% of what I played was older. If I want to do some serious gaming, I'll build a gaming PC again.

Just a quick one... I cannot for the life of me work out why Asus and many other manufactures have gone to screen with 1366x768 resolutions. Apart form the 720p standard…why why why… I leave on my Asus M50sa with 1680x1050… Someone enlighten me?

My X301 has slightly better specs than the UL30A and I can play TF2 at 1440x900 with low settings and get a playable frame rate.

I'm assuming you mean it hits mid 60s during idle. Because if you're hitting mid-60s while in game you definitely wouldn't want to return it. Anyway, sounds exactly like a powermizer problem. Use GPU-Z to monitor your GPU clocks and see if you're upclocking constantly.

Yes, I've posted about this. The solution is to disable Powermizer. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=4 34304 Does Microsoft or Nvidia know about this or 2 craps? Hard to say. I am thankfully getting an ATI card next but I'm afraid we're stuck with MSFT.

enter bios, you can adjust or mute the volume on the rog logo, or you can even disable it completely and have the normal startup screen, you should be able to find the option fairly easily in the bios.
