the simplest way to think about it is that they are flatly lying. also, i recommend vmware fusion over parallels.

MBP Refresh Jan 26? - Page 2
Published (2009-12-26 22:18:00)
According to this article the core i5's and i7's will supposedly be coming to the Macbook Pro in June of 2010. Whenever they do come to the Macbook Pro does anyone think the price will increase? Because I'm really debating buy now with Core 2 Duo or wait then see the price for the base 13" model go up because of the core i5 or i7 which ever chip they use. Any insight? Thanks...

bootcamp just helps install.... if you have Vista installed, you should be able to upgrade it to Win7 fine.. theoretically. That said, MS has never had an Upgrade OS that had to have a previous version installed before in order to use it. Often it just asks you to insert a previous Windows version install disc or something else just to check and see if you have it, then still installs fine. ...

depends how much experience you have opening up and changing things out on laptops.... I swapped mine out using a OptiBay... wasn't too hard, just lots of screws and couple tiny little cables/plugs to deal with that are in the way. Overall I found it quite easy, but I've repaired and rebuilt thousands of laptops over the years, so it might be easier to me than others. Mine is a 15"er ...

You will never be able to run apps in a virtual environment, faster than in a native environment. It's marketing, and nothing more.

more than likely.. the hotter electronics run for longer periods of time, can contribute to failure... if your fans are gong 6000 rpm for 14 hours a day, every day... I'd bet on your fans failing long before the hardware.

I did some digging around and apparently the slow shutdown is a known problem with Parallels. I found others with this problem that had installed Parallels (free trial). It appears that just tossing the application isn't enough. It leaves bits around that consume shutdown elapsed time. One of the workarounds involves reinstalling it and then choosing a deinstall option. I'm giving that a try ...

isn't the 'plain' macbook made out of white plastic which tends to crack easily? The two links you gave seem to show both an aluminium laptop though. This is because the first generation 13 inch aluminium laptops from apple weren't called Pro yet. Personnaly I would never buy a mac cuz they don't have graphic cards unless you buy the expensive 15 inch models (the first 15 inch model doesnt ...

I remember the old white plasti macbooks had cracks in them because of construction issues. I don't know if they changed that. I'd definitly go with the aluminium. Have fun with your futere max, which will probably not have a graph card in it unless you buy the more expensive 15 inch models. And if you do buy those expensive models with a graph card, remember that apple has downlocked the...
