I've seen a lot of posts on this, but haven't been able to solve my problem so far. The application is working on an N95. I needed to run it on an E51 and so used the tool to add new IME number and got a new cer file from the website. On installation the phone then came back with the 'Constrained by the certificate' message. I have checked the following according to other posts 1....

Hi all, I'd like to use TApaTask::EndTask() to quit another Program. I've added PowerMgmt Capability and OpenSigned the app, but when I try to run it, it quits with the error Standby Mode: Unable to execute file for security reasons. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, Is it possible to get freeware application symbian signed for free? I found this article on wiki: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/Freeware_sig ning Not much help on that one because couple links found there are outdated. Didn't find information about freeware signing at symbiansigned.com either. Is the easiest way distribute unsigned freeware and let users sign ...

Hi, all. I'm writting C++ portable class which uses MD5 digest algorithm, so I cannot directly use CMD5 class. I need some md5.h (located in epoc32/include folder) implementation library or some CMD5 wrapper for md5.h, but have no time to write it myself. Can you give me some advice or pick an existent CMD5 wrapper?

We recently applied for and received a devCert for a particular IMEI. My goal is to download an application onto the N95 and test using real hardware. It is not clear the process of signing the .sis file using the developer certificate. Please help. Thanks

Hi there! We should testing for our application<->service pair (application is freeware). So, we don't know IMEI list (because we don't know user-list, there are about 2-3 new users per hour). And there are up to 3 new application versions per day (bugfixes and so on)... Application is unstable and users know it (to join this test-area user must sign agreement). Application uses ...

Surely one should be able to distribute a proper document handler without need for non-grantable capabilities. Right now you need ProtServ for the recognizer and SwEvent if you want to handle document switch properly in your document handler application.

Hi, Is there a way to suppress additional popup screens for embedded SISX files during the installation process? How does that work (at least I saw a person from Nokia once who accomplished this - so it's not impossible. But this was some time ago)? BR, Rene

According from http://developer.symbian.com/main/su...ymbian_sign ed/ and many other sources I believe: When is signing an application not required? If the application uses no capabilities If the application uses “User Grantable” capabilities allowing the user to grant permission for these capabilities during installation or run time If the application is targeted for Symbian OS ...
