Replacement for Horn

http://www.clubxterra.org/forums/sho...4&postcount=48 Wolo bad boy, love the tone I find myself wanting to use it even when not totally necessary lol. At full blow outside the truck its very loud and puts the factory horn to shame. Just doesn't beep anymore when you press the lock button on the remote, rather it just puffs as its a air horn. Kind of glad though as it would be rather obnoxious otherwise.

meh. i still dont see how the original switch panel is supposed to be mounted. oh well, dont worry about it. it was just a stupid question. on a totally different note... does the xterra come with shackles on the back? i realize ppl buy shacklse to raise it in a pml, but does it come with smaller ones already?

You are totally gonna screw up the acoustics if you do that. Thats pretty much bare outer metal so your gonna get tons of noise from it. Best bet would be to leave the carpet and get a husky mat or something. I love mine cause i can just take it out and hose it off if it gets dirty.

nissan xterra conversion?

It will be fairly expensive for not a lot of change....a waste imo. But thats just me. That X is getting to the age where it needs more important things replaced. If you have the original shocks etc, its probably time to change them. That should be your priority, but thats just my $.02

Yea I do like it. The only thing that sucks is that its hard to adjust the controls for the air condition while its up. I would love to get an indash radio that is touchscreen and sale this one, but thats down the road.

That's a really good idea but one thing to keep in mind is your departure angle. Not sure how much offroading you plan to do or what types of terrain you wheel on but coming off of sharp down hills, climbing steep inclines or dropping off rock ledges (stairsteps) can put you in a tight spot if it sticks out too far. Not raining on your idea bro. You've got a good idea but just make sure you keep things like that in mind. I...

Looks like a really bad idea to me. The xterra was not designed to have that seat. I hope they don't put little kids back there.

Hey guys, So I don't know if its just me and my Xterra but the horn sounds somewhat underpowered. If I need to honk at someone in an urgent moment, I can barely hear it myself and I've tried listening to it out of the car as well. It just seems to lack volume... Has anyone tried replacing the horn with something a bit more suiting? and if so, do you have links to the how and what you ...

Yeah a pair of 7100's 8 inch travel will work wonderfully. I'm using 2.0 Fox 6.5 travel. Either shock up front will require custom shock hoops. I'd recommend the upgrade to the stiffer Sway away torsion bars if you haven't already.
